I approached this film (as they say) with some reluctance, perhaps especially by some negative comments I had read about it in the Spanish media. I must say, and this is of course a very personal opinion, that the film deserves a higher score than has been given, clearly not a masterpiece, but the actors are quite good, especially Juan Diego, and the script (which seems to owe much to the book of Javier Cercas, which I have read recently, and this is one reason which I was very happy to watch a new version of this historical event) is quite correct.
