Donna's earrings disappear and reappear while she is drinking coffee in the restaurant.

While Bob/Fred is giving a speech at the NewPath building, he takes his arms off the Podium and turns his side to the crowd.

In the next shot, he's facing forward and his hands are on the podium again.

When Ernie lifts the bike, he picks it up by the top wheel.

When he is shown carrying the bike a second later, he is holding it by the lower bar.

When Barris is served in the diner, french fries are scattered over his plate.

When seen again, the french fries are replaced with vegetable sides.

During the first psychological test, the 'dog' and 'pyramid' cards disappear from the table after Bob puts them down.

At New-Path, the pool of Bob's vomit disappears and reappears between shots.

When Bob wakes up and reaches over Connie, he is wearing blue boxer shorts.

But in the footage that he watches later, he is naked.

Donna's car is a convertible, but whenever she's having a ride with Bob (at relatively high speeds), their hair is barely moving.

When Fred enters Hank's office wearing the scramble suit, Hank immediately recognizes him and greets him by his name.

Although Hank discovers Bob's real name towards the end of the scene, many people that work there wear the same scrambling suit, thus it would be impossible to know who walked through the door.

When Luckman first brings in the bike, he lifts the front wheel into the air, holding the bike with both hands on the handle bars.

As the scene cuts to a different angle while he is talking, one hand is now on the cross bar with the other still on the handle bars.

When Bob leaves Donna's apartment after she rejected him because of "snoring too much coke", Donna runs after him barefoot.

In the parking lot however she suddenly wears sandals.

After the car breaks down on the freeway, they cut to a scene where the car is facing backwards on a flatbed tow truck.

If the car was picked up on the freeway, it would be facing forward unless the tow truck picked up the car from the rear which on the freeway would be highly unlikely.

Arctor's residence, on the computer screen, is shown as Anahiem, California, a misspelling of Anaheim.

The associated zip code, 98345 is for Keyport, Washington.

During the conversation in the tow truck between Barris and Arctor, visible landmarks switch between Irvine, CA (on the Tustin border) when the camera is on Barris, and Orange, CA (on the border of Anaheim) when the camera is on Arctor.

In addition, the same exterior shots from Interstate 5 of the Irvine Technology Center business park are passed several times in the same scene.

Is entertainment value so much to ask for nowadays that only one out of every twenty movies I see can accomplish it? Likewise, is an original, through-provoking plot just as unreasonable?

Really, I tend not to scorch or rant at movies ever. If I'm reviewing a movie, I try to be as honest as I can, so let me be honest:There's several reasons why this flick is super bad, but I'll get to the main ones.

Not ranting or scorching at it. I'm being honest.

This movie fails like an iron kite: it just has a serious design flaw. Usually I could find some saving grace about a bad movie.

After reading the book, I immediately wanted to see if the movie could encapsulate the greatness of Philip K. Dick's novel.

I regard 'A Scanner Darkly' as the best adaptation for screen of a work by Philip K Dick, although I have not read the book. I've seen the film about four times now and get something more out of it each time.

Directed by Richard Linklater. Starring Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr.

It's seven years in the future. The country is struggling with 20% of the population addicted to a new drug Substance D.

Philip K. Dick is the author of several novels cited in the dystopian sci-fi genre, some of which garnered powerful film adaptations such as Ridley Scott's classic hit 'Blade Runner' and the popular Amazon series 'The Man In The High Castle'.
