THERE ARE some elements in this movie that attracted me.first : style of cinematography # it WAS WONDERFUL,amazing and again WONDERFUL .

I think the movie's more of an anti war protest than a period romance. Also, I had trouble with keeping up with who was whom.

I'm a huge fan of Jean-Pierre Jeunet, so I was really looking forward to this film. But honestly, it never completely swept me up.

The story didn't stun me. But I love the beautiful film.

Never heard about this movie until now. What a gem!

People keep comparing Amélie with this film Both of them are touching movies, romantic and strong. A nice french Postcard from WW1, very poetic and extremely well produced.

You walk, doesn't it hurt?

It's France after the first world war. Mathilde Donnay (Audrey Tautou) has been told that her beloved fiancé Manech Langonnet supposedly died.

Dazzling, never before have I seen such a visually pleasing picture. Jeunet has mastered the film medium giving 'A Very Long Engagement' a unique and fairy tale like visual style.
