I can't decide whether or not "American Factory" is hilarious or deeply depressing.Hilarious because it's funny to see the culture clash between working class Americans and their Chinese counterparts (the Chinese CEO on a tour of his newly acquired American factory wants the fire alarm relocated because.....

Excellent, and very important film every American needs to see. Startlingly eye opening, clearly demonstrates the impossible challenges of the unmanaged globalization of a race-to-the-bottom.

The United States has spent more than 100 years opening factories around the world to exploit cheap labor. In particular, in China.

The movie shows one of the biggest economic challenges that we face in the world. Beautiful cinematography.

On the global scale, it compares the totalitarian Chinese approach to the unfettered capitalism preached by the USA. But both of those are undesirable extremes and the film shows that what most people want is somewhere in the middle ground that seeks productivity geared to quality of life.

So American factory workers get shown how to actually work efficiently for a living by the Chinese, who actually know what working hard means. It's a lesson that needs to be well learned by an isolationist nation who have had it real easy since the 50's while the rest of the world struggled to find their feet after WWII.

The American dream made people lazy while the rest of the world got motivated. This is a fascinating documentary.

Beautifully edited and engaging. I couldn't stop watching.

The events are well captured, the differences in china and the united states 'perspective on culture, trade and workers' rights (without generalizing) are exposed. chinese people try to be open-eyed and are doing well, I didn't like many of the chinese attitudes (for documentary without generalization.
