American Ultra

The second movie for the director. His first, 'Project X' was an unexpected full treat.

I was today years old when I realised I needed A sequel to this film.

This kinda caught me by surprise. Outside of The Social Network, I generally really don't like Eisenberg.

I don't give movies bad reviews often. I am the kind of guy who enjoys movies for what they are, and can usually find something to enjoy even in less than great movies.

You get the Jessie Eisenberg/Kristin Stewart vehicle "American Ultra." And while "American Ultra" generates enough excitement, insane violence and flair to compare to those movies, it lacks their fun and originality.

I saw a few GIFs and screen-caps of the trailer for American Ultra when it came out. It seemed amazing, but unfortunately it wasn't shown in local theatres so I had to wait until it was published on a DVD so I could rent it.

A lot more violence and not as much comedy as I had expected from the previews. If this was an attempt at dark comedy, it was overshadowed by the excessive graphic violence.

I was expecting this film to be terrible, but was presently surprised. Perhaps the idea of the show isn't original and it's a little choppy with delivering the plot of the movie.

Two of the worst actors team up to make a comedy.
