"Sweded" movies usually fall under the parody exception of United States copyright law.

However, the Fletcher team used the packaging and equipment of the real copyrighted movies from Mr.

Fletcher's licensed rental shop.

Renting out the swedes for money with these labels violated this license.

Copyright agents are not allowed to confiscate bootleg tapes for destruction until the tapes have been examined by a judge in a courtroom.

However, this could be a sly act of mercy on Ms.

Lawson's part--with the tapes destroyed, the evidence is gone, and the case against Mr.

Fletcher will never make it to court.

When Mr Fletcher sets off on his trip, the train leaves going back the way it came, even though Passaic does not appear to be a terminal.

This movie must be pretty good considering it manages to overcome Jack Black's staggeringly high annoyance quotient to deliver a reasonably entertaining comedy largely made up of affectionate parodies of a host of movies. Mos Def plays the hapless clerk of a video store given the responsibility of looking after the shop while its crusty old owner (Danny Glover) researches ways to update its selling methods.

After a bizarre industrial accident turns him into a human magnet, a lovable whacko named Jerry (Jack Black) inadvertently erases all the VHS tapes in his friend's low-end video store (so low-end it hasn't even converted to DVDs yet). To compensate for this sudden and unexpected loss of merchandise, the employees devise a scheme to "re-shoot" each of the destroyed films on their own camcorder, hoping to fool the gullible customers into thinking that they're renting the real things.

I shan't bother to describe the plot because it is impossible to do that without describing a different film or making it sound stupid. To avoid plot synopsis, one must concentrate on the start of the film in describing the plot but this section is easily the weakest part as the film contrives to get the tapes wiped and the sweding of the films begins.

The amazing odyssey of Jack Black rolls on. He acts out one shallow post-Belushi clown over and over.

Set in a decaying inner-city enclave that's being threatened by gentrification, Be Kind Rewind centers around two friends' efforts to save a video store from foreclosure. When the videotapes are accidentally erased of their content in the store, two friends (Jack Black and Mos Def) try to avert disaster by creating their own homemade versions of the store's films and soon become a big hit in the community.

During the course of this movie, storied New York jazz musician Thomas 'Fats' Waller emerges as its patron saint. Highly fitting since the making of 'Be Kind Rewind' must have represented a boon for the art of improvisation.

I heard about this movie come out while I was studying filmmaking in France, well I used to consume movies like crazy for some reason I didn't see it, it always lingered back in my mind, not because of director, actors - just the title. Well after 12 years I just randomly decided to watch it (year is 2020 covid-19 pandemic raging).

Many people confuse "Be Kind Rewind" (2008) for the 2020 Blockbuster puzzler, yet to be released. It has overshadowed my ability to push my performance out fully to the world.

This is a classic made on a modest budget by Hollywood standards and using lots of locals on location as actors, but it's a gem and the movies within a movie, in some cases are funnier than the original, such as GHOSTBUSTERS. It is hilarious and even touching and well done.
