I got to watch Brawl in Cell Block 99 after previously seeing Bone Tomahawk and Dragged Across Concrete. I am a big fan of both movies and was looking forward to seeing this one since it appears to be the best-reviewed of Zahler's three movies.
If you can get past the bad acting, ridiculous sound and visual effects, plot holes, and unbelievable storyline, the movie was watchable.Did I mention really bad acting.

I like Vince and think he really is underrated as a tough guy lead role. He was very unrecognized for True Detective season 2.
It's like playing a violent but satisfying punch 'em up video game with Vince Vaughn leveling up throughout the film.
This is one of those movies where you never feel bored. Each scene makes sense and keeps you entertained.

I'm not sure where the high volume of ultra-positive reviews for this movie came from but they aren't based in reality. Either the majority of reviewers for this film know absolutely nothing about any aspect of good cinema or something is wildly fishy in Denmark.
