In one of the games, Richmond's score on the scoreboard is shown at 29.

Next play, the score reads 27.

In the huddle during the Holiday Championship Game, Kenyon's headband reads "And 1" in the back, but it switches to the front, then to the back again.

When the boy's cousin (the drug dealer) is shot, the boy runs to his cousin and lays his gun down on his left side.

The scene shifts and as the camera backs up from the scene, we see the gun laying on his right side.

When coach Carter drives to school to accept the coaching job, he drives past the same auto repair shop (with the phone number 562-432-7676) twice, from opposite directions.

In the game against Bay Hill, the clock shows 1:20 remaining and then shows 1:22 remaining in the next scene.

In a scene in the Locker Room after a game, Coach Carter announces that they have qualified for a tournament.

Here, we see Junior Battle take off his headband, in the next shot he has it back on, followed again with it off then on again During the scene just after the first training session with Carter, the boys go to a café and Worm is talking about the '2 for 1 offer' with Kyra's friends.

Kyra starts off holding a drink in her right hand, but between shots it switches to her holding a paper bag, then back to the drink, before Kyra and Kenyon walk off together.

During the state game, Carter tells Cruz to go in for Kenyon.

But, when the game starts, both Kenyon and Cruz are playing in the game.

After they win the Bayhill Tournament Championship game, player #25 shakes Coach Carter's hand first.

In the reverse angle, player #25 is back in line to shake his hand again.

When Coach White is introducing Coach Carter to the team, he says Carter attended George Mason University.

Carter attended George Fox University.

During the game against St.

Francis, when Richmond is making their comeback, one play they get a steal and make a lay-up.

During the play Timo Cruz is seen on the court in the game.

The camera then switches to the bench and clearly shows Timo sitting down clapping.

No doubt for poetic license, a physical padlock has been put on the gym door by Kenny Carter to "lock out" his players from practice.

In real life, Carter, as depicted a part-time walk-on coach, would not have the power to lock out Richmond High School's girls basketball team, wrestling team, badminton team and PE classes.

The "lockout" was symbolic, not physical.

The sports reporter at the game in the beginning of the movie refers to a opposing player as the "Next LeBron James.

" LeBron James would not have even been in high school when the movie takes place.

During one of the basketball games, an advertisement for the Xbox game console can be seen inside the gym.

This console was not available until 2001, two years after the film's setting.

During the swimming-pool party, the Black Eyed Peas song "Shut Up" is playing.

That song was released in 2003 and the film is set in 1999.

One of Coach Carter's rules in the contract stated that the players must wear ties on game day.

In one scene, there is a sign in the background that reads, "Boys Basketball Game Today" and Kenyan is seen talking to his girlfriend in regular street clothes, thus violating the team rule.

At the very beginning of the movie, in the Richmond vs.

Francis preseason game, Ken Carter's wife says St.

Francis is up 22.

Ty Crane then dunks the ball, presumably putting St.

Francis up 24.

But a shot of the scoreboard shows the score at 63-32, a 31-point margin.

Timo's cousin is shown in several scenes driving a black Nissan Maxima.

This film was set in 1999, yet the model year he is driving is a 2004 or newer.

In the championship game, late in the 4th quarter the score is shown St.

Francis 68-67 over Richmond.

Richmond scores to take the lead presumably.

However, when the buzzer beater is made by St.

Francis in the closing seconds, the scoreboard shows a final score of 70-68.

It should have read 70-69 as a final score.

In the beginning scene, Ty Crane is being interviewed, He is said to be considered the next Lebron James.

Lebron James would have been 15 years old at this time this movie was supposed to take place.

At the end when Richmond play against Saint Francais, Coach Carter's son passes to "Worm" a fellow teammate.

Worm is behind the half court line while Carter's son is in front of the half court line.

In basketball this would count as a half court violation and it would be a turnover to the other team.

In the movie however the game plays on.

A wonderful film.

Coach Carter made for quite the riveting watch. Whilst it's not quite as good as Gene Hackman's Hoosiers, it's pretty damn good in its own right.

A classic tale of self-improvement , triumph and redemption , being based on a true story . It begins on the street and it ends playing a state championship .

I'm always honest in these reviews.....I watched this movie more than 3 times.

I enjoyed this true life story as Samuel L Jackson shines in the title role. He takes over as head basketball coach, makes his presence known, and makes them sign a contract with certain expectations.

Samuel L. Jackson great as usual in portraying high school basketball coach with strong principles not only on the court but also off the court.

You don't need to enjoy or even understand basketball to appreciate this film. Another sporting story which displays the justice of opportunity following hard work.

I remember Coach Carter being quite good, but the fact that I forgot that it was Samuel L Jackson leading probably meant it had been too long and was worth a rewatch. And wow this movie is great.

"Coach Carter" tells the story of a basketball coach who refuses to give up on a bunch of failing high school students in a deprived area of the city. The way Ken Carter insists and persists to help the students using his unconventional ways, being the call of his duty, is truly remarkable.
