In the scene where Paul is the hotel room, he removes the door slide bolt from the dresser and puts it on the door.

He only puts one screw on it and its also positioned awkwardly.

In the next shoot, there are two screws on the slide bolt with it placed correctly on the door.

In the house full of water, Abuelo forces Paul's head into a filthy toilet.

When the toilet is shown in the same scene, it is totally white.

When Paul is trying to escape in the car and hits one of the villagers in the road, the man is yanked back, (by an obvious harness), before the car even touches him.

After Paul hits the man and the car runs off the road, the hubcap comes off the wheel twice.

the second time the wire on the cap is clearly visible.

When the storm is approaching towards the ship, the sky gets dark quickly, but in other shots the sky is clearly blue and with a bright sun.

Near the beginning when Paul and Barbara are trying to get to the village in an inflatable raft, Barbara is clearly on the right side and Paul is on the left, mounting his oar.

At about 16:38 the scene cuts and they are on opposite sides.

This is the way I think horror movies should be: unpredictable, horrific, and in their own tumultuous direction. This is a fantasy horror adventure and it strays from the same old "Hollywood-horror"' formula, and for that it is very commendable, but not only for that, but for utilizing the poignancy of the original H.

This movie showed up on my Prime Video account so I watched it based on the good reviews here and to be honest I wasn't expecting much from a 19 yo movie that I had never heard of before. Wow what a pleasant surprise, it was all that and more!

Those who enjoy Cyberfunk plots should be shot to promote evolution, then after having the tragic and unfortunate experience of watching Dagon and Color Out of Space so should have H.P.

Lovecraft fans be warned – DAGON is a very loose adaptation of his Shadow Over Innsmouth, changing much of the action and containing little of the atmosphere that Lovecraft painstakingly created in his works. Saying that, this is a very atypical movie which makes great use of Lovecraft's themes and ideas, but bizarrely alternates between scenes of pure horror and other moments of outright comedy.

*** Major Spoiler Alert ***Stuart Gordon's Dagon is an intense and unique film based mostly on H.P.

Wow! Unexpectingly good!

As others have asked why call it Dagon at all when really it's A Shadow over Innsmouth? The film had flashes where it could have been so much more ...

Four pleasure boaters are shipwrecked near a Spanish fishing village. At first glad to be so close to a town, the boaters soon discover that the village is full of freaky deformed people who worship a bizarre and evil sea-religion.

After crashing their yacht off the Spanish coast, a man begins searching for help in the nearby village but finds the inhabitants hold a deadly secret and begin to chase him for use in a secret ceremony for one of their rituals forcing him to find a way out of the town alive. This here was a rather fun and entertaining effort that has a lot going for it.
