When the salesman dies in the elevator, Detective Bowden gets on his radio and says "we have a possible 187.

" 187 is the California penal code section for homicide.

This movie is set in Philadelphia and there is no penal code section 187 in Pennsylvania.

When the crashed car with the cop's family is shown, the kid was thrown through the windshield (there is a hole), although the car was hit on its side.

The opening Scripture quotation is listed as "Peter 5:8.

" There is no such book in the Bible; it should be "1st Peter 5:8".

If you've seen Night's "Signs" then you've already seen the plot twist to "Devil". Nothing was more ridiculously out of place than when Night played the veterinarian character in that movie.

While Shyamalan's directorial career has taken a wrong turn, releasing one movie worse than the previous, this movie shows that he can still tell a story. An elevator in a tall building stops, rendering the five people in it trapped.

I have been a fan of MNS since the Sixth Sense. Now granted some stories he's brought to film have been better than others but in typical MNS form his stories always carry a powerful but subtle message that most might miss when going to his films expecting only excitement, action, thrills and chills.

All of the characters in the elevator were so irritating and everything I hate about people, I was put off of them immediately. I GET that being stuck in an elevator is inconvenient, but guess what guys -- SH!

Let me just start by saying that I totally loved this movie. Personally, I think that M.

I'm not religious anymore, but had that upbringing. This movie is so good.

Maybe it was my fault but at the beggining i was disapointed because i thought the whole film would be set inside of the elevator. 1 hour and 20 minutes it's not a long run so i did think the concept was mainly that.

Devil is a chilling supernatural thriller brought to us by the king of suspension M.Night.
