Errores

The character MaMa (played by Lena Heady) has a scarred face.

In some scenes the scar looks different than in others.

Near the end of the movie, when the blast door opens, Dredd and Anderson are standing side by side waiting.

Seen from the front, Anderson is holding an assault rifle, and Dredd isn't holding any weapon.

Then in the next shot, seen from the rear, Anderson is still holding a rifle, but Dredd is now holding a pistol.

When Dredd throws Kay across the room, he rolls over a desk and his arms come apart even though he is handcuffed.

Judge Anderson doesn't have a bullet hole in her uniform after being shot in the abdomen.

The Clan Techie states Mama's private quarters is behind 10 inches of steel (01:19) however it appeared to be a normal door that Judge Dredd easily pushes open.

When Lex "deals with" Dredd the shadows from the wall where Dredd is stood alter according to camera angle.

The strap on the woman's bag changes position between shots when she is pushing her pram in the atrium when the bodies drop down.

Before Dredd, Anderson and Kay hide in Cathy's flat there are four gang members walking down the corridor.

Only three go past the door but Dredd says, "Clear.

" At 1:14:30, Dredd checks down a litany of ammo types, trying to find one that the gun isn't out of.

He checks Rapid Fire/RF, Incendiary/IN, & Armor Piercing/AP.

Two of these names are visible & have 0 levels showing in the led readout, and the (type obscured) readout is probably Rapid Fire.

When he calls for High Explosive/HE, suddenly readouts for all ammo types show 25 rounds each ammo remaining, and the readout for (type obscured)RF, probably, reads 50.

MaMa has pretty bad dentition - her incisors appear blackened in early scenes.

Just prior to being defenestrated by Judge Dredd her teeth appear almost white as they do while she's falling.

"Dredd" has nothing innovative to offer that is new or groundbreaking, but the fusion of familiar elements generates a smartly paced, suspenseful 90 minutes that's a vast improvement over the disastrous 1995 version starring Sylvester Stallone. It has the atmosphere of a shoot 'em up video game, and the only thing that's missing is the wireless controller.

DREDD (2012) - My thoughts and opinion on the reboot of the failed 1995 film starring Sylvester Stallone. The original Judge Dredd film was just horrible, not from just a script stand point, but from an execution, direction, and cast.

It is probably not possible to create a movie that more perfectly honors the soul of the source material. It is exactly what I needed to cleanse my mind of the pathetic earlier attempts in Judge Dredd.

Simply awful. Twisted imagery of violence, sex, & other vices.

If anyone has ever seen Japanese films like "Tokyo Gore Police", "Helldriver", "Ichi the Killer", "Meatball Machine", "The Machine Girl" and others, they'd know what I mean when I say "Dredd" has a similar, over the top, highly-colored, super gory presentation. Like those other Japanese films, "Dredd" is relentless in its pursuit of blood and carnage.

Oh dear... How can such an awful movie come from such great sauce material...?

I have never read the comics so I can't judge Dredd from that perspective, no pun intended. I have seen the original film and now this one so I have judged both of them as stand alone movies.

Going into this without ever having checked out any of the source material, I wasn't sure to expect. I'd heard people liked it, and I'd heard others hate it, so it took me some time before I finally got around to checking it out.

This film hits the nail on the head when it comes to an accurate portrayal of Judge Dredd. Karl Urban plays the character exactly how he was meant to be.
