Letters on a desk in the lawyer's office have 33 cent stamps showing the US Flag and a skyscraper, which were issued in 1999.

The real Erin Brockovich did her work (and the movie is set) in the early 1990s, when the first class postage rate was 25 cents, and later 29 cents.

Immediately after their first meeting with a PG&E attorney, Masry and Brockovich return to his office where we see him loosen his tie.

After we cut to Erin, we return to Masry, whose tie is back in place.

Next time it's loose again.

The first time that Erin visits the Water Board archive, the photocopier has a blue start button.

When she returns later, the start button changes to green.

The coffee stain on Masry's shirt after tripping over the box of files appears, then disappears when he goes to talk to Erin.

Her old car is hit in the right rear and spun around.

The gray "primer" is on the door with no damage to the rear of the car.

George and Erin's kids are playing the "Harley-Davidson" Edition of Monopoly which was not released until 1999.

In the meeting with the young PG&E representative, the paper Ed puts on the table in front of the guy changes position several times.

The bowl of chips in front of Beth in the "Finding the kids at George's house" scene changes position several times.

When Erin and Ed are driving along the highway in his Mercedes, a current generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class flies by them; this model didn't come out until 1996.

When Erin and Ed are in the park deck, a current generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W210) can be seen as they walk by.

The model was not available before 1995.

While the beginning of the film is set in the late 80's, the poster of _Jurassic Park (1993)_ (qv) in Erin's bedroom isn't seen until 18 months after Erin began working on the case in 1992.

When Erin is ringing up companies looking for a job she puts the phone down twice after the last phone call.

At the picnic there is a can of Diet Coke that has the 1997 style, rather than the 1986 design used in the early 1990s.

After Erin comes up from the PG&E well with the water sample, she is chased to her car by two PG&E employees.

She gets in and frantically tries to make her getaway.

Apparently the car doesn't start the first time and we hear her trying again.

However, when we hear the starter cranking the second time, Erin's hand is already off the ignition switch and moving to the gearshift.

When Erin confronts George about his loud Harley, the motor clearly sports an oval air cleaner cover identifying it as a Harley Twin Cam which didn't come out until 1999-2000 (depending on the model) - several years after that scene would have taken place.

When the kids are playing what appears to be the card game War with George after the "Erin finds the kids with George scene", as Erin is telling the kids to go to bed, the children get up, and the son says "Good night, Aaron", when referring to George.

Aaron is the actor's name, 'Aaron Eckhart' (qv).

When Erin and George are sorting out the various decks of playing cards, she asks him how many decks they have.

George responds, "We have more than we-nuff", an obvious combination of "more than we need" and "more than enough".

(At 47.

33) When Ed Masry hands over a stack of paper to his assistant, to be faxed to the PG&E Company, you can clearly see at the bottom of the stack that there are pages of a movie script, when he hands them over and when the assistant arranges the papers in a neat stack on her desk, preparing them to be faxed.

In the movie, Erin claims to have been Miss Wichita as a younger woman.

The real Erin Brockovich was in fact Miss Pacific Coast.

In the accident, Erin's car is seen being hit broadside by the doctors car obviously running though a red light while she was driving straight across the intersection, but in the telling of the accident in court Erin says that he came around the corner, out of control, as she was "slowly pulling out" of her parking space.

In the visual, the doctor is clearly the guilty party but in Erin's courtroom testimony it appears that Erin pulled out of her parking space unsafely into the path of an oncoming cornering car.

When Erin first goes to the county water board to talk to Scott about the records, Erin's arms change position in between shots going from being in front of her chest to flat on the counter.

Erin receives a cashier's check from her boss that has no date on it.

When Erin and George are apparently sorting the cards back into separate decks, neither one of them looks at the faces of the cards because both are holding the cards face down.

This means what they are doing is pointless, they are really just separating the cards into four random piles.

This is the type of movie that puts me off Steven Soderbergh. I started to find interest in the guy earlier this year when Side Effects surprised me but it's half-assed efforts like this that just make me feel like his hearts not in it.

This film tells the moving story of how a weak woman can help others while changing her own destiny, showing the precious spirit of human beings defending justice. Errin, a single mother who has experienced two divorces and dragged her three children, is in desperation after a very helpless traffic accident.

Erin Brockovich (Julia Roberts) is a struggling unemployed single mother of three. She can't even win a petty lawsuit against a doctor for a car accident.

In 1974, in "A Woman Under the Influence", Gena Rowlands gave one of the most extraordinary female performances ever as a woman alienated by her desire to please everyone, yet lost the Oscar to Ellen Burstyn, a struggling mother in "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore".In 2000, in "Requiem For a Dream", Ellen Burstyn gave one of the most extraordinary female performances ever as a woman alienated by her desire to please everyone, yet lost the Oscar to Julia Roberts, a struggling mother in "Erin Brokovich".

Erin Brockovich would have been a compelling drama even if it weren't a true story, but it is a true story, so it's even more captivating. Julia Roberts is a commanding presence whenever she's on the screen, and her antagonistic relationship with Albert Finney is a lot of fun to watch.

When someone asks you to name a Julia Roberts movie, it is certainly not Erin Brockovich, you would go for rather you would advise for pretty woman. And by all means, this movie can be cremated(I'm a Hindu and so is she) for Roberts' performance but the question arises of why 8 then?

Watched again and still as it all. And again dec 2020.

If you have not seen this movie, I assume that you live under a rock. This is the mostly factual story of Erin Brockovich.

Erin Brockovich is a movie based on real life affair that takes time in the 90' s, but the occurrence of the movie can still happen today.. After watching first few minutes of the movie, you don't really know how can this character, Erin, be one of the biggest icons in civil rights.
