When Evan is talking to his wife on the ark after the rain, the deck is wet but the top of the wooden rail around the bow of the ark is dry.

When Congressman Baxter is driving his Hummer after the bird incident, his windshield switches from clean to dirty many times.

The area code for the phone number on Eve Adams's real estate signs is 804, which is the area code for Richmond, some two hours away from Washington, D.

Northern Virginia's area code is actually 703.

The Northern Virginia suburbs, though hilly in some places, are not mountainous as portrayed in the film.

When Evan speaks with God after the birds have alighted on and flown off his shoulders, claw marks on his suit's back disappear and reappear continuously.

When Evan is in his office surrounded by birds, behind him are two blue peacocks.

Male peacocks are blue, the female peacock (called a peahen) is brown.

Members of Congress park in a garage, not outside.

Members of Congress still have regular license plates on their personal vehicle.

They usually place their Congressional plates on the dash as they change vehicles.

Members of Congress' offices are not that huge and their staff is not that large.

Evan asks for unleavened bread and his wife hands him a Pita Bread.

Pita is not considered unleavened bread.

The license plates of the cars are California plates, but the movie takes place in Virgina.

Just before the boy says "Dad,we can do this.

" a blue car is driving on the road behind Evan.

In another angle, as Evan sits down, the car has disappeared.

In the shot of the children after Evan says "we need something to lift those beams" the car appears again on the left side of screen.

(widescreen version only) In the movie's opening scene, Evan Baxter anchors one more newscast before leaving for his new job as a U.

Congressman.

In reality, Baxter would have to resign as a news anchor prior to launching his campaign, or the TV station would have to provide free equal time to his opponents as required by Federal law.

During the flood Baxter's staff appears and disappears from scene to scene.

In general any view from the front shows him without the staff, while any view from behind shows him with the staff.

The Reflecting Pool located in Washington D.

does not sit in front of the United States Capitol Hill.

The National Mall lies between Capitol Hill and the Washington Monument.

When the storm surge dumps the Ark into the Potomac river, Rosslyn (a portion of Arlington) is visible in front of them.

Rosslyn is on the other side of the river so it would have not been visible.

Also, as they approach Memorial Bridge, they show Georgetown to the West of the Ark.

Georgetown is on the east bank of the Potomac, and the river makes a big bend south at that point.

We should have seen Arlington and Arlington Cemetery at that time.

A freshman member of Congress would not move their family to the Washington area, and would not purchase a large house.

Congressman are required to maintain residency within the state in which they were elected.

A freshman Congressman would likely rent a small apartment, or (like Rep.

Jason Chaffetz) would sleep in their office.

The European map on the wall in the hallway is totally incorrect.

Portugal seems to be part of Spain, Turkey is smaller, there's a new country on eastern Mediterranean and Northern African countries are dislocated.

The brown dog is called a boy throughout the movie, when it is in fact a female dog.

When the animals are boarding the ark and the family is standing at the top of the ramp looking out over all of them, you can see the seams where the family was spliced into the shot.

During the scene where Evan raises his staff right when the animals begin to run toward him you can hear a voice say "let's go, let's go".

At the beginning of the film, when Evan is praying at the end of his bed, there is a light shining from the left side of the screen.

There is also a light shining through a window behind him when the shot changes.

Assuming this scene takes place at night, the light makes it clear that this scene was shot during the day.

The craziest thing about the story of Noah is it's about the greatest act of genocide in all of history, if you believe that sort of thing. And they want to make a light hearted comedy about God's wrath?

Ambitious eyewitness news anchor Evan Baxter has moved up in the world newly elected to Congress, he uproots his family from Buffalo to Prestige Crest--an affluent community in Virginia where he sets out to change the world. The only caveat is that this makes him an ideal candidate when he's summoned by God to build an ark.

I am a movie buff and almost all my favorite are in top list in IMDb but i cant believe why this people gave such a low rating! Its saddening to find out that this movie doesn't attract audience in this generation.

Normally I wouldn't write a review of a film until after I had watched it again, however I will make an exception with Evan Almighty. Basically I will have to go down to the video store, I would have to then look for the movie, pay money to borrow the movie, and then take it home and watch it.

Some of the characters from 'Bruce Almighty' return to the franchise. Evan Baxter (Steve Carell) is now the TV anchor from Buffalo who gets elected Congressman.

Currently 5.4/10 on IMDb and just 37 Metascore.

It's hilarious/sad how the world reacts to anything remotely faith based. Yes, it was a tad corny at times.

The movie didn't make sense at all..

Believe it or not, this was the first time I watched this movie....I know it came out 13 years ago.....
