The prison, set in the former East Germany, is called "Einsargen".

While this, translated to English, basically means "coffin" and fits in the context, the word is a verb ("to coffin somebody") and not a proper noun.

At the prison scene, a warning sign reads "Baustelle! Betreten der Einfahrt verboten!" which translates to "Construction site! Do not enter the gateway/entrance!".

This is complete nonsense because first the prison is not a construction site.

Second, the warning sign would ask you to stay away from the premises, not the gateway ("Betreten der Baustelle verboten" or just "Betreten verboten").

A stop sign at the prison reads "Hält" while it should just read "Stop" (even just "Halt" is rarely used on signs in Germany).

The German word "hält" has different meanings, i.

"he holds something", but it does not mean an order to stop your car.

When the three surviving Joes are walking through the desert, in one scene (just before they stumble upon the desert airfield) Flint is wearing a full face mask (possibly for the desert dust).

In the next shot the mask is gone.

During the nuclear summit, Paris, France is shown as one of the targets, including the Eiffel Tower in the skyline.

The tower was destroyed by a Cobra weapon in the previous film, G.

JoeThe Rise of Cobra.

In the French president's suitcase are two buttons respectively labeled "avorter" and "bras".

Avorter is French for abort, but that word is usually only used in relation to pregnancies.

The correct word in that context is "annuler".

During the prison fight scene Storm Shadow gets shocked by a defibrillator.

Defibrillators give one shock, not a constant as shown.

Also the charge should have been to weak to hurt him.

During the desert battle scene, you can clearly see a snatch-cable attached to one of the Joe's just before an explosion's concussion blasts him backwards.

In the nuclear launch scene when all the nations are retaliating with their own nuclear weapons, China is pictured and then presses their "launch" button which is actually written in Korean.

North Korea is then pictured and presses their "launch" button which is written in Chinese.

In the bunker, when the various world leader's each open their respective "nuclear football" control cases, on the French president's case, the right-hand-most button, which would be labeled "Arm" in English, is labeled "Bras".

While this does indeed mean "Arm", it is the noun, referring to the limb between your wrist and your shoulder.

It's dubious whether such a device actually exists in France, but were it to, the correct label would probably be "Armer", or (better) "Préparer".

The bomb dropped from the satellite.

It is impossible to drop something from a satellite as the satellite is already in free fall.

There has to be acceleration from the object to physically push the item toward the earth.

Since this is relatively near the satellite, the satellite would accelerate backwards.

Additionally, the device would burn up in the Earth's atmosphere, making it ineffectual as a weapon.

When Snake Eyes is taken into the prison, he's told that they descend so far that they are no longer in Germany, but are in international territory.

Most conventions hold that a country's claim extends down to the center of the Earth, and up into space.

(US Property Law holds the same convention with regard to a persons real property).

I have seen the first movie and as I went into this one, I expected something really terrible. I was prepared to see a mindless piece of Hollywood-Goo, where someone had pulled an 80s-Franchise (for a second time) out of the bin and made a movie from whatever property he grabbed.

Lacking the cast of favorites from the original movie and killing off all the rest, the movie has no redeeming qualities. When are writers going to stop abusing the overused "Pearl Harbor sneak attack" plot device?

Not sure how I feel about G.I.

This second G.I JOE film doesn't have much in terms of a well thought out plot but it does have some great visuals and is packed with loads of well staged action sequences so action movie buffs should have a blast.

The first G.I Joe film was a Stephen Sommers mess, but this film is no better.

I was maybe around 15 when I watched this and didn't even like it then. A non-stop mess of jumbled headache inducing overkill action scenes that numb the brain and rot the imagination.

This sequel to 'Rise of the Cobra' may satisfy the most avid GI Joe but a loose and inconsistent plot makes 'GI Joe Retaliation' less then memorable. Even with the addition of Dwayne Johnson (AKA-The Rock) and relies deeply on the non stop action to keep the audience's attention.

I have never been a super nerd about G.I.

The first film, RISE OF COBRA, was stupid fun. It knew what it was and it embraced the campiness.
