Moharram, a Shia rite is celebrated in the Sunni dominated Wasseypur.

But the celebration of moharram procession passes from a lot of areas in and around the city, and for that matter a lot of sunni dominated areas also celebrate moharram as much as Shias do.

(at around 28 mins) When Danish goes to Rajhans Mansion to kill his father's murderer's apprentice you can see "EZYPAY" poster on the left side of the screen with Mobile's picture in it.

At that point of time as per movie even pagers were not around in India it was some years later that pagers were introduced and Faizal comes to know about it and it took some more years for mobile to be known in India.

Number plates on car are shown to have black numbers written on white plate.

However, till year ~2000, it was other way round in India i.

white numbers on black plate.

1. Excellent story and screenplay.

After a series of duds movie is bollywood, this movie had regain the faith in bollywood industry & trust me it came from a hardcore hater of bollywood cinema. I think after Rang de basanti, this is the only movie which is at par with Hollywood.

Sweeping story of gangs fighting over the coal capital of the country, where rivalry and revenge cut deep, and 'coal'-blooded crimes are second nature. Shahid Khan is betrayed, and his sons and grandsons swear to avenge his dishonour and death.

A film desperately in need of an editor...A story spanning several decades, condensed into 320 minutes (!

This is hands-down one of the best movies of the decade, not just from Indian cinema, but from all over the world. IMDb has merged it into one, but it's actually a 2 part saga of crime, loyalty, family, relationships and most importantly revenge.

Gangs of Wasseypur is made to look as authentic as possible. A story which is said to be 80% real and 20% fiction, traces the Wasseypur mafia from pre-independence days, particularly focuses on one lineage which is at war with the established mafia of the town and jostles for supremacy.

One of the lengthiest yet most engaging movie. You will love the way fight stretching over 3 Generations.

The movie is too episodic in a way that betrays a motivation of showing India off rather than telling the world what is. Individual acting performance of Tigmanshu Dhulia is what keeps you in semi-awe given the loose ends at screenplay that pervade all within.

It is story of A Daku(manoj bajpai) , who seeks revenge from those peoples who constrain him to leave village and make any other way to Earn. But death of his wife again evoke him to take revenge.
