By coincidence, the movie about the life of Timothy Treadwell corresponds very well to a short story I have been writing. The movie involves bears and my story involves fish, but that's just a detail.

I am a great fan of Werner Herzog, and consider him along with Ingmar Bergman and Robert Bresson as one of the most uncompromising director of the films. However, I am not impressed by this film.

It has to be emphasized from the start: Treadwell was killed while visiting the Grizzly reserve at a time he never did before, by a bear he didn't know, who was apparently desperate for his own survival and starving. Prior to his death he managed to live with the bears a couple of months each year, mostly alone and for 13 long years, a task considered impossible by most people.

I can't believe this won ANY awards let alone all it did for being best documentary film.. Timothy Treadwell had a death wish and what really upset me is hearing people compare him to Steve Irwin, the legendary Crocodile Hunter, who i was very fond of..

To Werner Herzog :Are you a cinematographer and you make suggestions to Jewel to destroy the (audio) evidence of Tim's death? You better leave this job!

I have never seen such an awful movie in my life. Grizzly Man is a pathetic excuse for a film and definitely undeserving of the minor awards it has earned.

Grizzly Man is one of the nicest surprises I've had in watching movies this month. Werner Herzog collects so much information on the controversial man and allows us to view the evidence of this man for what it is, not what the news would doom him to be or what a narrative film would embellish to extracted our sympathy.

Not much you can say about this other than sheer mental issues. The best part of the film is the Helicopter pilots quote about the main character.
