Although supposedly set in south London, most of the graffiti on the estate has been lifted straight from the New York underground scene by the movies art department, with internationally recognized American Graffiti artists such as 'Kez' and 'Skuf' and 'YKK crew' adorning the supposedly British sink estate.

When Harry is buying the gun there is a girl lying on a the couch.

When viewed from Harry's perspective her head is laying flat on the couch, in the shot from across the room her head is propped up against the arm of the couch.

The large map behind SI Childs in his office when he's talking to DI Frampton is of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

This is an odd priority for a senior police officer in London.

In the scene in the pub, just as Sid is about to suffocate D.

Hicock, the boom is visible at the start of the sequence.

Harry Brown makes a reference to the abdominal wound of the gun dealer as probably involving his liver.

The liver is in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen, the bullet wound was in the left lower quadrant making this reference inaccurate.

During the riot scene, a Volvo hatchback is torched using a petrol bomb.

Later in the sequence the car is seen again, and the fire has gone out.

It is possible, although unlikely, that the petrol did not ignite the interior (accelerants in isolation do not burn for long), but the car body shows no oxidation or paint damage, even around the roof.

Harry Brown is a better than average vigilante film from Great Britain with a good performance by Michael Caine. It follows a London pensioner with a military background who decides to stand up against the yobs terrorizing his neighborhood.

I may just be out the loop, but who the hell is Michael Caine?? The only person I actually recognised in the entire film was the old dude who got stabbed by his long-ass knife all because he was in Harry Bloody Potter.

A British version of "Death Wish" doesn't sound like a necessarily good movie. If I added that the main character who becomes a murderous vigilante is old enough to not just be a grandfather but a great grandfather, doesn't it almost start to sound like a parody?

It's not like the old days anymore and Harry Brown knows it. The streets are filled with violent gangs and drug dealers who brutalize everyone in the neighborhood, regardless of race, age or sexuality.

Ex-military Harry Brown (Michael Caine) lives in a rough neighborhood. He lives alone and spends his days visiting his terminally ill wife.

This is British Deathwish for Old People. Charles Bronson was in his fifties back in 1974 when the original Deathwish came out.

HARRY BROWN feels very much like the Clint Eastwood movie GRAN TORINO, except without any of the touching or heart-warming stuff to restore your faith in the human race. By contrast, this is relentlessly grim and dour production in which sleaze and evil seeps through every scene and you know there will be no happy ending for any of the characters, major or otherwise.
