Hercules puts his hands in the water trying to reach Meg's soul.

Seconds later, when he jumps into the water, he is a hundred feet up on a cliff.

All of the characters are referred to by their Greek mythological names except for Hercules.

Hercules is the Roman equivalent to the Greek Herakles.

When Hercules is pulling the wagon into town because Penelope the donkey twisted an ankle, in one shot the donkey is not wearing a sling to support its leg, but in the next shot, it is.

When Meg finds Hercules behind the curtain, he is missing a wrist band on his left wrist.

It reappears the next time we see him.

When Hercules is fighting the Hydra, he reaches into the ground and pulls out a slab of rock to throw at it.

However, there's clearly no hole in the ground from where the slab came from as he does.

During the scene with Megara and Hercules by the fountain, the armless statue at the end changes into a man and a woman holding a ribbon between scenes.

Also, during that scene, Meg and Hercules change locations around the fountain and the statue rotates with them.

When Hercules destroys the marketplace near the beginning of the movie, the pillars start falling outwards from the center of the circle towards the entrance of the marketplace.

In the next part of the scene, the pillars are collapsing inwards towards the center of the circle and fall on each other before they crash on the pottery vendor.

When Hades is in the boat on the river Styx at the beginning of the movie, he throws a small steak to the huge three headed dog as he passes it.

In the next shot, the steak is much bigger.

Zeus did not bestow the underworld on Hades.

Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades drew lots.

When Meg talks about her weak ankles, she sticks her left leg out in front of Hercules' face.

In the next shot, it's her right leg that's stuck out.

When Phil admonishes Hercules, "Don't let your guard down because of a pair of big goo-goo eyes," he's clearly mouthing the word "blue" instead of "goo-goo.

" Originally, Meg's eyes were originally going to be blue, but later on they were changed to purple to match her dress.

Near the end of the movie, Hercules is at the top of the stairs talking to his parents, then suddenly appears at the bottom with Meg.

- PLOTPhil says he wants someone he trained to be in the stars.

He claimed he trained Perseus, yet Perseus has a constellation.

When Pain and Panic are flying down with Hercules, he is face up; next shot, he is face down.

Before Phil goes in his "house", the door is closed; in the next shot, it's open.

When Hercules throws the giant discus, the ground is rock; in the next shot, the ground is grass.

When the hydra monster is reborn, Phil puts the sword in Hercules' left hand; in the next shot, it's in his right.

Hades' hair turns yellow, orange, and red when he's angry, but visible blue fire is actually the hottest flame.

Since this film is only an adaptation of the myths it is understandable for there to be quite a bit of artistic license taken with the stories.

Any differences between this film and the myths belong in the trivia section of this site.

When Hercules spaces out after first meeting Meg, Phil yells "Earth to Herc!".

However, the phrase "Earth to (insert name here)" was not coined until the first space shuttle launch.

Since the movie takes place in ancient Greece, Phil should not have used this phrase but the inclusion of the line could easily be explained by saying that the intent was much like the water bottles that Hercules sells.

The Fates explain that all the planets will align, but only 6 stars/planets are shown.

The Sisters of Fate did not share a seeing eye, 3 hags called The Graiae did.

Pegasus was born from the blood of Medusa, not clouds.

- PLOTWhen the Fates said all the planets will align, only 6 stars are shown.

All planets are able to be seen from Earth as stars.

Hades calls the Titans "Brothers" when in fact they are his parents.

The bottle that Pain and Panic were feeding Hercules with disappears after it breaks.

As Hercules is running around trying to stop the pillars from falling, Penelope the donkey is sitting on the ground, but at the end of the scene, she is sitting back in the cart.

When Hercules is talking to Zeus in the temple, you can see the red ribbon of medal, but when Pegasus flies in, the ribbon is no longer around Hercules' neck.

As the planets align, Saturn is shown as the 4th planet.

Jupiter, the largest planet, isn't even shown.

Mars, being red, isn't depicted.

The shape and sizes of the planets don't make sense.

During their final two scenes in the movie, none of The Fates has the Eye.

All numbers in the sequence "Zero to Hero" (in Hercules' credit card, when the muses give him a 10, "X") are Roman numerals.

The Ancient Greek versions of the numbers would be alpha, beta, omega, etc.

When Pain and Panic are disguised as little boys trapped under the rock, they say to call IXII.

Hercules is set in Greece, and those are Roman numerals.

When Phil is showing Hercules around his house, Hercules hits his head on the mast from the Argo.

Phil informs Hercules what it is; however, in Greek mythology Hercules was an Argonaut.

When Hercules and Meg are talking after their day together, Meg is wearing a shawl.

However, when she turns to talk to Pain and Panic disguised as birds in a nearby birdbath, her shawl is missing.

It is there again when she is talking to Hercules.

After Meg and Hercules play hooky, they're walking down the stairs and Meg has a shawl around her.

When Pain and Panic tell her to quit messing around she doesn't have it on.

A few moments later it reappears.

There are only six stars/planets because Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto were not discovered until after the 18th century, and the Greeks considered the sun a planet in their Earth-centric universal image.
