When the time travelers return to 1986, they discuss doing everything the same so as not to mess anything up in the future.

One person says "If you step on a bug, the Internet won't be invented.

" The internet was already invented in 1986, but not widely known or used in public homes.

When Adam is writing poetry in the room after the breakup, he is listening to "I Just Died In Your Arms tonight" by the Cutting Crew.

This song wasn't released in the U.

until the spring of 1987.

You can clearly see a poster for _Rambo III (1988)_ (qv) on the wall of Blaine's bedroom.

Rambo III wasn't released until 1988.

They travel back to 1986.

At the Poison concert it switches between overhead shots of 'John Cusack (I)' (qv) being led through the crowd, and ones of him standing by the bar.

Most of the movie's anachronisms have to do with the setting being too early, but here's one that's wrong because the 1986 setting is too late.

If Lou stayed in 1986, he couldn't have joined Mötley Crüe in time to record "Home Sweet Home" with them and appear in its video; that track was on the band's 1985 album Theater of Pain and in heavy rotation on MTV by the start of 1986, with Vince Neil singing.

At the start of the film when Jacob Can be seen playing a PC game for about two seconds you can clearly see the Windows Media Player 11 "play" buttons as they come up when a video is full screen and has the mouse over it.

The top button on Nick Webber's pajamas switches between being buttoned and unbuttoned in several shots.

When they are playing "quarters" in their room at the hotel (in the present), the number of drinks on the table change.

When Lou is in the hospital and the decision is made to go to Kodiak Valley, he pulls out his catheter.

Liquid sprays onto his pillow and it is clearly damp.

In the very next shot the pillow is completely dry.

The movie is set in early 1986, yet one of the anti-communist 'jocks' at the ski resort makes reference to 21 Jump Street, a show that didn't begin airing until 1987.

After Adam is stabbed in the eye by his girlfriend, he has a nasty wound.

In later scenes the wound is missing.

- PLOTIt is stated at the beginning of the movie that Jacob is 20.

Since he was conceived in 1986, that would put "present time" at 2006 or 2007.

However, the hot tub is clearly set to "2010" when the guys return to the present.

Towards the end of the movie as the three guys are talking to Phil and he is handing them the map printout from Lougle, you can see two search options underneath the address search bar and the option for "Search the Web" is checked instead of "Search the Maps" option.

The AFC Championship game played on 11 January 1987 shown in the bar was between the Denver and Cleveland.

However, the game took place in Cleveland rather than Denver as shown.

The 1987 AFC Championship Game was the early game with a kickoff time of 12 p.

Eastern Time.

In the movie the game was on at night.

As the four guys enter Kodiac Valley talking about Adam ('John Cusack (I)' (qv)) breaking up with the "great white buffalo", in the rear window they start to pass an awning as the scene changes inside the Denali then goes back to looking out the rear you see them start to pass the same awning again.

In the scene where the guys encounter the ski patrol for the first time.

Jacob is pushed down and the Ski patrolman's hand radio clearly falls in the snow.

In the next shot it's back in his chest pocket.

Lou is seen betting on Denver against Cleveland in the 1986 AFC Championship Game.

While the actual Broncos-Browns game did take place in January 1987, it could be reasonably referred to as the 1986 conference championship because it followed the 1986 regular season (for example, even though they won Super Bowl XX in January 1986, the champions of that year are always called the "1985 Chicago Bears").

During the Poison concert, they pan the crowd.

There is a woman with an Under Armor headband on.

Under Armor was not even a company in 1986.

In the ski chalet scene there is a person shown wearing "Cross Colours".

This brand was not invented until 1989 when Carl Jones came out with "clothes without prejudice" brand.

When Nick asks a girl what color Michael Jackson is, the girl is wearing a pair of Smith brand goggles whose band features a logo that wasn't in use by Smith until many years after the scene is set.

When Nick Weber is in the hot tube with the groupie (allegedly in 1986) They're listening "Push It" from Salt-n-Pepa but this song wasn't released until March 9, 1987 and advanced into the Top 40 the week of December 26, 1987.

When Nick calls Adam his iPhone says 4PM not 4AM.

When Nick walks up to his band members for the 1st time in the hotel lobby area, the song "Smooth Up In Ya" by the Bulletboys is playing in the background.

That song didn't come out until September 1988.

(at around 1h 02 mins) After the end of the scene where Jacob sees the repairman at the cigarette machine, the next scene opens with Nick still passed out and leaning against the side of a urinal.

After Nick wakes up you can see a smudge of his makeup on the side of the urinal for the rest of that scene.

Lou starts off with 6 shots of tequila, he throws one it breaks, he throws another it breaks but he still has 5 shot glasses left.

When Rick wins the big bet Lou and Nick push the four money stacks towards him and Rick messes the piles up when pulling it towards him, in the next scene its four perfect stacks again One of the snowmobiles being used by the ski patrol was not available for sale until 1997 by Ski Doo.

When the guys are skiing down the mountain, the Motley Crue song "Kickstart my heart" is the music playing.

They supposedly went back to 1986 but that song did not come out until 1989 on the "Dr.

Feelgood" album.

When the one armed bell boy assists in taking everyone's bags to the room when they first get there, when he reaches to grab the bags you can clearly see the outline of his arm, that supposedly doesn't exist, under his shirt.

So, this is my first ever imdb review but it had to be done. Don't waste your time watching this terrible film.

With Easter coming up I started searching round for a Comedy that a friend could enjoy watching over the Easter holiday.Looking round for a suitable title on Amazon, I stumbled on a movie which looked like a perfect match, which led to me jumping into the hot tub.

With a crazy premise, you'd think this movie would be full of hilarious moments, but truly funny moments are rare in a movie that severely lacks laughs. The cast is made up of quality actors, but the stand-out funniest character is played by Crispin Glover, who has a very small but inspired part to play.

While the world was still recovering from the over-hyped Todd Phillips movie a smaller, quieter, but funnier movie slipped into cinemas and made a little splash. Both feature groups of troubled men looking for a good time, but Hot Tub Time Machine is just madder and more inventive.

I loved every time they said 'Hot Tub Time Machine' never got old.Really funny movie that kept on giving.

Is there such a thing as a good miscast? If so, putting John Cusack in this kind of buddy comedy is pure genius.

If I could leave a one-word review - that would be it. HTTM has many laugh-out-loud moments.

It's been quite some time since I watched this. Hot Tub Time Machine is a return to the 80's via a hot tub.

Everything in this film works.
