Well it was interesting to read the negative comment i found here about this movie from the Chinese person. I guess if i was also a Chinese/Asian person, i would see the movie in a different light too.

Beautiful cinematography, with great use of color. A classic martial arts film.
House of the flying daggers starts out really good. Beautiful scenes with martial arts and dancing which are splendidly done.
I would even rank this film as good as the infamous Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Its strengths lie in its colourful cinematography, the design that brings the historical setting to life and the fantastical martial arts sequences.
I am not one to notice or even care much about visuals, but the cinematography in this movie is simply orgasmic. If you've seen 'Crouching Tiger' you'll be familiar with the fighting style: unrealistic, yet mind blowing.
House of Flying Daggers is a brilliant movie. The story, acting directing, cinematography, design work, etc....
Like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Hero before it, this movie is a masterpiece. Beautiful colours, sets, music and wonderful martial arts.
