Insidious: Chapter 3

A girl visits an old woman psychic for a reading. The woman is retired so of course she's reluctant but of course agrees eventually.

Chapter 3 delves into the years before the horrific events of the first two installments. Maybe a better bit of horror and a pinch more of sheer terror.

The first Insidious is to this day one of the only films I've rated a perfect 10. I've been a devout horror fan for around 15 years now, and I'm a tough grader, so trust me - Insidious has earnt it.

This movie was so good. It wasn't the jump out of your seat kind of movie but it was really good.

As the director tries to make the film more disturbing, all it comes off is as a weaker instalment compared to the first 2. The first 2 had an interesting story to carry them through but this one is so formulaic that I felt I was in an intro class to film.

Clearly it wasn't as scary as the previous 2. I don't think it has the same atmosphere with the previous as well.

Unlike the previous 2, this definitely felt like a horror movie. It was really good as well, 4 of the jump scares got me.

More cookie cutter nonsense from the studio who brought you the first two INSIDIOUS films - films which I thought ripped off POLTERGEIST something rotten, adding in possession-type sub-plots and coming across as singularly superficial and more than a little dull. INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 is more of the same, this time a prequel that tells of a case in the earlier life of psychic Elise Rainier (played with enthusiasm by Lin Shaye).

Following a tragic accident, a crippled teen who was brought back to life finds her life disrupted when her recovery is halted by the discovery of a malicious spirit following her claiming to be her dead mother and forcing a psychic to battle the being to save her.This was a decidedly enjoyable but still lowest quality entry in the series.
