'Insidious: The Last Key' definitely starts better than it concludes, as it creates an unnerving premise which made me attached to Lin Shaye's Elise instantly. There's also a solid amount of heart to this fourth production, more noticeable here than in any of the others to be honest.
Still not as good as the first 2 but definitely better than the 3rd. This became a far better origin story than the third one was.
Some might get confused with Insidious and Conjuring. Both had the same lead actor in the very first outing.
I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would, based on the quality of the preceding follow-ups to 'Insidious'. This is actually my second favourite of the series, narrowly beating 'Insidious: Chapter 2'.
Wasn't expecting much after the third entry was alright at best, pretty happy with the turnout, funny at moments but I did enjoy it better than I thought.I like how it somehow links to the first movie but all in all a good watch.
For me, The Last Key was the weakest part of Insidious franchise. First two parts were so different but afterwards the franchise turned into a normal horror franchise.
I found this really good, much better than the reviews suggest. I'm a big fan of Insidious franchise, in fact I'm a big horror fan period and quite enjoyed the two prequels as a bit of backstory.
Plot holes you can drive through. Contradictions.
I wasn't very fond of this film. It was full of clichès and cheap jumpscares.
