During the scene when Jane is talking to her three children in the bedroom, Luke's hairstyle visibly changes from shot to shot.

In the scene where Jane is in her bathtub talking to Jake, the lit candle in the bathroom window moves back and forth between different camera angles revealing that the scene was done with different takes.

Towards the end of the movie when Jane and Jake are sitting on the swing, the chain links behind Jane move, in some scenes there are 2 extra links hanging, others show 1 hanging, and some show no extra links.

Jake's necktie goes from being loose to completely tied between shots when he is putting it on during their conversation.

When Jane and Adam put the croissants in the oven, they are much too close together.

Croissants expand over double as they cook, and they would have stuck together.

As a baker, Jane would know this.

In the scene where Jane is discussing her situation with her psychiatrist, the part in her hair jumps from the middle to the side several times when the camera shot changes from the psychiatrist back to Jane.

In the scene where Jake is eating ice cream from a parfait glass while Jane is relaxing in the bathtub, the ice cream changes from almost empty back to almost full.

In the scene where Adam is trying on clothes, he tries on a sweater that he refers to as gray.

It is clearly brown.

When Jake is spying on Jane and Adam at her house, he peeks through bushes growing outside her kitchen window.

But from inside the kitchen, his head is fully visible in the window with no bushes to be seen.

Soon-to-be son-in-law Harley fills a glass of wine to the brim, but in the next shot as he raises it to his lips it is only 2/3 full.

At the beginning of the film when Jane walks away from Jake (after discussing the hotel arrangement) her sunglasses instantly go from her hand in one shot to being worn in the next.

When Jane jumps out of the hotel bed because she's sick her hair is relatively straight but by the time she reaches bathroom seconds later it's quite curly.

When Jane and Jake talk at the hotel bar, Jane's martini glass suddenly jumps from being in her left hand to the surface of the bar, and she is shown nervously fidgeting with her purse instead.

After Jake and Jane's second love scene in Jane's house, Jake's hair goes from being messed up and fluffy to combed and gelled in between shots while he is getting dressed.

When Jake and Jane are lying in the hotel bed, the amount of Jake's chest covered by the blanket changes from shot to shot.

When Jane and Adam are looking over the plans together at her house, Adam asks "Have you lived here long?" but his mouth isn't moving.

When Jane is telling her 3 friends that she is having an affair with Jake her hair switches from down around her face to swept back and keeps switching back and forth each time she is shown on screen.

In the last scene, Adam has a visible earpiece.

In the part of the movie where Jane waits outside the Santa Barbara Medical Building for her therapist, there is a sign that says Mission Pharmacy.

In real life it is a restaurant called The Wine Cask.

You can see wine bottles displayed through the glass door of the supposed pharmacy.

In the scene where Gabby is about to leave home for College she sits in the Toyota Prius and the steering wheel is upright, when the camera returns to her the steering wheel has turned and is almost upside down.

In many shots during the rainstorm sequence, the background is obviously in full sunlight and several characters cast shadows as they run toward house.

When Jane makes "croque monsieur" for Adam in her kitchen, she takes the pan of the sandwiches out of the oven twice.

I enjoyed the movie very much. However, I was disappointed that they ended up apart at the end.

My opinion is that the film has some things going for it, but as far as the script/story goes, it falls way short of its intended goal, if it had one that is. This film suffers from an identity crisis it's unclear exactly what kind of story it's telling.

Saw this in theater or tried to, film broke, how quaint. I think Nancy Meyers commentaries on the films she direct are hilarious, as she sweats every detail, even ones no film-goer would notice or care about.

It's Complicated (2009): Dir: Nancy Meyers / Cast: Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, John Krasinski, Lake Bell: Hilarious romantic comedy about regret. Meryl Streep plays a chef and mother, and Alec Baldwin plays her ex husband who is involved in an unsuccessful relationship with a younger woman.

Jane Adler (Meryl Streep) is an unattached divorced successful businesswoman who's facing an empty nest situation. Her youngest Gabby (Zoe Kazan) is headed off to college.

The scene with the pain of the kids hurt. Sweet movie.

If you need something light, funny and love the cast, you will enjoy this movie.

I can't say how much I love this film. It's my guilty pleasure, I have seen it several times and its just a joy to watch.
