I was seeing the film after 20, perhaps 30 years. Somehow I recollect it being a masterpiece.

I was never too fond of great Hindi movies, for they often deliver great performances around profound messages but leave you with a sense of loss of joy at the end. No joy is no money, and no money means you are left dangling precariously with just your ego.

I am not a fan of endings like this. For the respected Actors and Actresses..

All of Gurudutt's angst and provess in one movie! Too bad he retired from Direction after this...

Kaagaz Ke Phool Was Directed As Well As Produced By Guru Dutt...Written By Abrar Alvi...

This movie sums up the genius of Guru Dutt. A reclusive and introvert man portrayed in the movie was Dutt himself.

A film director Gurudatt though being deprived of simple consideration attitudes from family and friends goes on in creativity. A most understanding co star heroine Waheeda develops extremely high CHEMISTRY between them.

This is one of the best Hindi movie from 1960s. Good direction and story, wonderful acting by Guru Dutt & Waheeda Rehman.

Dutt's 'Kaagaz Ke Phool' (Paper Flower) very much reflects his own life story. It can be described as poetry on canvas as it's beautiful, lyrical, agonizing, heartbreaking and a treat to watch.
