The Clear Sky travel agency has a six digit (should be seven) 0171 phone number.

The 0171 code didn't exist until 1995, before that it was 071, and in the 1980's when the scene is set, the code for London was 01.

The movie takes place in 1980, but one of the very first establishing shots in the movie clearly shows a red Pontiac Fiero, which didn't come out until 1984.

When Spike reads Harris' obituary, it says he died in 1980.

However, the prologue scene (Mexican assassination) happens in 1980, according to the opening crawl, and Danny learns Hunter has been kidnapped one year later (according to the next intertitle), so Harris' murder must have happened during 1981.

The sequence featuring a car chase starting and finishing at the hospital featured many vehicles with license plates showing three numbers and four letters, a format which has never been used in England.

When the ransom money is being taken out of the attaché case, the one-hundred dollar bills have the current large faced Benjamin Franklin rather than the regular faced bills of the time period.

When Danny first meets his agent in Oman he is standing on the right of the white Mercedes.

They talk and after a short while Danny says "Ok Let's go" and immediately steps into the car from the left side.

When Hunter sits with Anne in the cafe in Paris the menu items written on the wall have prices in Euros, in 1980 it should have been Francs.

In the final sequence, Spike is escaping in a second generation Volkswagen Jetta, a car that did not existed until 1985.

In two of the London arial shots, three Mercedes Citaro low-floor articulated buses can be clearly seen - which only started production in 1997, and were introduced to London in 2002.

Moreover, there were no articulated buses in London at all in 1980, when the movie is set.

Mobile radio sets with short antennas are used, which came into use much later.

The type of helmet used during the assassination of the last target is clearly of a later era.

In the opening scenes Jason Stratham is using the Beretta 92F handgun first manufactured in 1992 and the film is set in 1980.

However, the Beretta 92S was available in 1980 and is visually almost indistinguishable from the 92F.

In the escape scene early in the movie, De Niro's character Hunter takes a Glock 17 handgun from a guard.

This weapon was not manufactured/sold until about 1984.

Since the scene is set in 1980 it is somewhat improbable that he would have one.

At one point there is a shot of the Eiffel Tower, featuring the lighthouse.

This was added for the 21st century celebration but the movie takes place in the early 80s.

In the beginning of the movie it says "Oman Arabian Peninsular" but the white plate numbers of the car are UAE - Dubai Based.

Oman uses Yellow plates for private vehicles.

After Danny was playing boxing with Davies some where in Paris, France, they went to an office , on the glass door of the office the word "Manager" was written in Arabic.

Which is the word "modeer" but it was written in Arabic letters Davied carries a Sig Sauer pistol throughout the movie even though Sig Suaer wasn't established until 1985.

When the sabotaged truck is leaving the depot just prior to the 'Boston Brakes' job, it is next to a rail yard.

One of the locomotives has the insignia of Vic rail/v-line meaning it was shot in Victoria - the south eastern state of the Australian mainland.

When Danny, Hunter, and Spike are in the desert at the end of film Spike is standing about 6-8 feet from his car during the sequence.

As he watches the others drive away he is now 25-30 feet away and has not moved during the entire sequence.

When Spikes leaves the van where Davies' dead body lies, the intersection on background is crossed by semi-trailer pulled by series 4 Scania truck.

Scania introduced 4-series trucks in 1995.

When Spike is about to leave from interrogating Danny, who is lying on the floor and tied to a chair, Danny kicks off a slat from the right side of the chair, trying to free himself.

As Spike returns seconds later, the chair is back in perfect condition with the slat unbroken and in place.

When Hunter and Danny try escaping.

Hunter takes his watch off a bad guys wrist and puts it in his pocket.

But when they move into the hallway, he is wearing his watch on the wrist of his gun hand.

When Danny and Davies are scouting the Brecon Beacons in 1980, Danny's coat clearly has a Superdry logo on the collar.

SuperGroup, the parent company of Superdry wasn't founded until 1985.

Superdry as a brand wasn't founded until around 2003.

At 59 minutes, when the helicopter lands on the banks of the River Thames in London, a sign warning of sharks is visible on the quay side.

At the beginning of the movie when Hunter is rescuing Danny.

When getting into the car Hunter yells, "There was a kid in the car".

Hunter never looked in the car and Danny never tells him.

In the opening sequence in Mexico Danny is wounded in the right shoulder by a gunshot.

In the subsequent sequence at home in Australia he is seen wearing a tank top and his right shoulder is completely unmarked.

After Hunter opens the briefcase full of money the position of the paper bands around the bundles of dollar bills and the position of the bundles in his hands change repeatedly between shots during the "hookers and blow" speech.

When Danny is tied to the chair and the fight begins, he jumps out a window.

There is no sign of the chair nor any pieces of it.

At the beginning of the movie, the motorcycles leading the motorcade disappear as the camera takes long shots.

Jason Statham, Clive Owen, and the legendary Bobby DeNiro, what could possibly go wrong? Plenty it would seem.

De Niro is still an unimportant character, an old-fashioned action movie and a mediocre plot. The story is quite simple, and belongs to the kind that you forget after watching movies.

Before I begin my review of the film let me first say Dominic Purcell gives the strongest all round performance, you remember him from TV's Prison Break. I want to read the book now because one thing about these types of movies is plot and all its twists which we get very little of and what we do get is lots of action scenes because lets face it David is not the dramatic actor he is an action man so what starts off strong goes off and on the rails repeatedly.

Killer Elite is a Hollywood made version of supposedly true events. It pretty much retells the story of a mercenary Danny (Jason Statham) whose best friend and mentor Hunter (Robert De Niro) is kidnapped by a rich Arabic man, who in return, wants to avenge the death of his three sons to the hands of British S.

Killer Elite starts with the Jason Statham super-assassin fare, some random Mexican or South American dude is getting whacked and Jason Statham as Danny here kills car-fulls of them. But, then it manages to enormously over-complicate things the way only a British movie can do.

This Movie Is Awesome! I 100% Seriously Truly, Honestly, Sincerely, And Absolutely Loved It!

An action film starring everyone's favourite diver, Jason Statham with added 'A' list actors in the form of Clive Owen and Robert De Niro. The film is supposedly based on a true story from Ranulph Fiennes.

I sensed what the movie-making powers that be were thinking when they made this movie: Take 3 action stars + 1 super hot blonde = money. Simple enough of a formula to get people in the theaters.

The Killer Elite is saddled with a vague and forgettable title but at least it sounds more lethal than the book it is based on by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, "The Feather Men". An evil cabal known as the Feather Men does not inspire too much fear.
