I have avoided Les Mis over the years, under the impression that it held nothing which would appeal to me. I noticed that this 25th anniversary concert presentation was being broadcast live from the O2 to our local cinema and, knowing that my wife was a big fan, I booked tickets.

Love most everything about this production. From Javert's powerful bass to Valjean's wonderful tenor, and even Matt Lucas' comical Thenardier, this is a powerful performance-with the exception of Marius.

Holm or Boe? Easy answer Lea Songlia was brilliant as Eponine but not Cossette Alun Armstrong was superb but Matt Lucas oh dear god Xavier was decent in both but the 10yr Anniversary also had acting with voiceIf you watch this version...

Matt Lucas isnt Armstrong Boe isnt Wilkinson Songlia better as EpioneWatch the 10yr...

Slow to start, but the ending is worth the wait!I'm not sure I would have cast Nick Jonas as Marius and even Matt Lucas was a bit wrong for me.

Too much of tolerance, too little of talents.

Let's get one thing out of the way first. Nick Jonas, in my view , was absolutely fabulous.

From the time I learned of the existence of this concert, I coveted it, and now that it's out on DVD in the UK I praised the Lord for my multi- region DVD player and bought a copy. Watched it yesterday for the first time and will watch it again.

Santa very kindly brought the DVD round and it is spectacular. This is much longer than the tenth anniversary concert (TAC), with much more of the secondary action being included.
