Godfrey is placing roses in a vase while ignoring Irene.

In one shot, he has already placed five stems in the vase.

The camera cuts away to the rest of the cast but when Godfrey is seen again, there is only one rose in the vase.

When Irene first goes into Godfrey's room the door opens to the right, in the direction of the kitchen - revealing Molly standing in the background.

In the next shot the door is open on the left, in the direction of the bedroom.

At the Tea Party While Irene is talking to Charlie Van Rumple, in the background you see Godfrey serving Cornelia with a tray and she takes an item in each hand.

A few seconds later the scene shifts to Cornelia, and Godfrey again serves her and she takes the two items again.

In the living room scene just after the PARK AVENUE CHATTER column that appears, Cornelia's magazine changes.

At first, Cornelia picks up a magazine having a dark stripe along the top and bottom of the front cover, then the magazine has a lighter front cover and a woman (resembling her) in an ad on the back cover.

As Cornelia moves over to the couch, the magazine changes back to the original one; further, it reveals a star shape on the front cover and a non-portrait on the back cover.

I genuinely enjoyed this movie from the whole story all the way up to the characters. i enjoyed the fact that this man (Godfry).

I actually really enjoyed this movie. My favorite genre of films are comedies, and a screwball movie was the start of comedies.

The first thing that stands out to me when watching My Man Godfrey is its pace. Its brisk pace never lets for any dull moments, making the 90 minute film fly by.

My Man Godfrey manages to balance humor, social commentary, and great acting to form a perfect screwball comedy. There were many laugh-out-loud moments, and the characters' different personalities were all charming in their own respects.

To understand American cinema you must watch films like My Man Godfrey. Set in the Great Depression, it is a stinging rebuke of the narcissism of the rich, and a call for compassion for the millions of hungry, homeless, unemployed Americans, represented by Godfrey, who lives in a dump.

Great movie first time seeing it there were so many different surprises throughout this movie which kept you on the edge of your seat this movie shows someone who came from many different avenues was on the right path the breaking down to nothing and we rising again even though the odds are stacked in his favor and having a phenomenal outcome even though many people throughout the movie did not see him as anything more than a butler even though he was a very smart and very well articulate man.. definitely a movie worth seeing if you have not seen it before or even sitting down and watching it again for a second or third time.

"My Man Godfrey" is about a woman named Irene who needs to find a "forgotten man" to win a scavenger hunt. She eventually finds Godfrey in a dump and she convinces him to come back to the hotel, where the scavenger hunt is taking place, with her.

"My Man Godfrey" was my first exposure to a screwball comedy, and I'm not disappointed. The comedy was funny at most times and somewhat routine during other scenes.

With the institution of the Hays Code in the 1930s, came the birth of the Screwball comedy. My Man Godfrey blatantly challenges the Hays Code without stepping outside of its boundaries.
