Nocturnal Animals

I enjoyed this movie a lot, even though the ridiculous allegorical sub-plot didn't work at all for me. Gylenhaal gets assaulted, his wife and daughters abducted on the highway late one night in a truly terrifying ordeal at the hands of a bunch of rednecks.

The script of another film school wannabe. A guy raised on the 1970s theater dramas put into film without much skill.

Totally disappointing. No storyline.

In Nocturnal Animals, writer and director Tom Ford uses analogy to devastating effect in order to explore the psychological devastation wrought upon a man who has lost the love of the woman he loves. Not only is the pain of the man - whom we only meet in flashback and through his ex-wife's visual interpretation of his latest novel - laid bare in a way that transcends the conventional use of flashback, but Ford also manages to expose the woman's callow thoughtlessness without turning her into the irredeemable villain of the piece.

It's just amazing. I am just upset it did not win an Oscar.

"Nocturnal Animals" was a major let-down to me. I'm giving it two stars instead of one, because, much to my shame, I watched it to the end.

Stylish, Thrilling, Reality, Tension, are served with a soft/poetic revenge.

For the life of me I cannot understand how on Earth this movie has a rating as high as it does. It's boring, and hard to follow what the hell is even going on.
