I was very disappointed in this movie. I live in the deep fringe of TV hinterland and so had seen Bill Maher only briefly.

Maher is on a quest, but it is a personal quest. First, the meaning of religion.

Religulous is an important movie. Bill Maher has struck upon something many have come to grips with but haven't vocalized clearly: that religion is nonsense.

Comedian-cum-pundit Bill Maher, the son of a Jewish mother and a Catholic father, never labels himself an atheist or an agnostic in the course of this questioning-religion documentary, which he also produced--could be why the finished results seem smirking rather than cutting edge. The movie is worthy of watching. I need to ask myself the following question.

The movie was funny. I must admit, but there was so much deception and manipulation to the film and it enforced bigger propaganda and stereotypes.

The Star of the show and the people that support the movie and praise . it, are the people looking for comfort and an excuse or reason to make .

I was really excited to see this movie and to see an objective view, considering every possibility. I think it's a really good idea and a big issue that needs to be documented and researched.

I guess I was hoping for an honest, critical take on the major contemporary religions. Unfortunately, I was mistaken Maher embarks on a quest to find religious idiots and lets them become spokesmen of their respective religions.
