Although the movie is set in the 1970s, many people in the crowd at various games are wearing current fashions, like hipster jeans and contemporary sports jerseys.

This is most noticeable when the bear escapes and everyone in the crowd rushes to exit the stadium.

In the beginning, announcer Dick Pepperfield says "That little kid from the 'Jackson 5' (qv), he scares me too.

Oh mark my words, Lou, there is something creepy about that young man.

" He may have been referring to 'Randy Jackson (I)' (qv), the youngest (14 or 15), shortest, and only child member of The Jacksons.

The Jackson 5 disbanded in 1975, and reformed as 'The Jacksons (I)' (qv) in 1976.

Youngest sibling Randy replaced 'Jermaine Jackson (I)' (qv), who left for a solo career.

In 1976, 'Michael Jackson (I)' (qv), the lead singer and second youngest sibling (17 or 18) was the lead singer of The Jacksons.

As the camera cuts back, Cornelius Banks has the gun in his hand.

During a jump-ball sequence, a "Spalding" logo appears on the ball.

Rawlings manufactured the ABA's red, white, and blue basketballs.

However, Spalding currently holds the rights to the names and logos of the now-defunct ABA, and supplies basketballs to the current ABA (formerly known as ABA2000, unrelated to the original American Basketball Association).

Very sad it must be the worst, or nearly so, film I've ever tried to watch – of course I could not possibly sit till the end. "Why chicken crossed the street?

Not worth watching. Kinda boring.

It was absolutely hilarious. I love this movie, I love the sarcasm that goes into making fun of amateur sports and how easy it is to make it as a funk singer.

Will Ferrell lead movies don't usually do much for me (with the exception of Elf). I can really enjoy when he acts as a side character or when he's not running one of his own comedies.

Ok, it's no "Godfather" but if you are looking for 90 minutes of absolute hilarity, give it a chance. Seriously, this has some lines that you will repeat over and over!

If you are a will ferrel fan you'll throughly enjoy this. Much better than a lot of his movies.

This was a decent sports comedy and typical Will Ferrell fare. It had a good cast and decent laughs throughout.

Even twelve year olds would baulk at the childishness of the humour on offer here. Not an elevated joke in sight.
