After Buddy cuts Common's character across the eye with a playing card, the amount of blood on Common's face changes as the camera cuts away and cuts back again.

When the hitman Lazlo Soot disguises himself as Hugo, there is a rather large blood stain in the middle of his shirt.

Later when he ditches the disguise the white shirt has no blood stain on it at all.

When one of the prostitutes grabs Buddy's dressing gown, he lets it fall onto her, covering her legs.

From one viewpoint, the dressing gown covers the prostitute's legs, and from another, she is still completely uncovered.

When Sparazza kills Heller there are two holes in the cars window, Sparazza makes another, third.

In the next shot there are four, and when Sparazza walks away, again only two.

In Buddy Israel's hotel suite, the naked prostitute on the floor is completely naked.

Then, she is covered with a black blanket.

She is then shown naked again, and then covered up again.

Everytime they flashback to Heller being shot, the number of bullets in the driver side window changes.

While this is a continuity error, it might be intentional to illustrate the confusion an inconsistency combined with how little the FBI actually knew about the incident.

Right after Israel tries to commit suicide the camera pans past him, past the revolver, and up to the door which changes into the door the security guards open.

The reflection on this door clearly shows the outline of the camera man walking up to the door.

When the Tremor brothers are in the elevator, trying to escape with a chain saw, there is a close up on the tallest member.

When this happens, you can see the camera reflected behind him in the upper side of the elevator roof, in the shining material.

When the camera pan out after Watters emptied the sniper rifle, the rifle had no magazine in the receiver.

But later when the FBI stormed the room the rifle had a magazine attached.

The Swede is supposed to have come from "Stockholm University", Sweden.

This is not possible as it is the Karolinska Institutet that is the university hospital of Stockholm where medicine is studied and researched.

When Hollis Elmore gets to the house and the kid, Warren, opens the door, the American Flag in the background is hanging wrong.

The American Flag is always supposed to have the stars in the left corner; the one in the house, the stars are on the right.

Early in the movie Agent Messner is talking to his partner and says "and a paternity suit just to round out the portfolio".

At the end of the movie they are recapping and show him saying "a paternity suit just for fun".

Just as Messner goes up in the elevator to see Locke at the Hospital, a reflection of a crew member is seen to far left wearing headphones.

When Buddy shuffles the card deck he has a ring in his right little finger.

Then a camera turns away and come back, and a ring is gone.

When the hit man is disguised as Hugo and is placing his collection of tools on the bench, the order changes.

One of the cords that Richard Messner had previously unplugged from the wall is plugged in again, when he is sitting in the chair in the hospital room at the end.

When Watters empties the sniper rifle, count how many shots she gets off.

The Barrett M107 only has a 10 round magazine, even if she has one chambered she still can't get off the 13 shots that she does! At one point, Heller is said to have been OSS (Office of Strategic Services) before he was FBI.

At another point, it is said that his undercover op predates the second world war.

This is impossible, as the OSS was founded in 1942.

When Agent Messner first walks into the Emergency room you see a doctor pass from the hallway in front off to his left.

The camera then pans to look at him while he is walking down the same hallway, and the same doctor walks along the same route as before.

Israel's pattern of rings changes throughout the film - in some shots he wears one ring on his left pinky and one on his right index finger, but in others a third ring appears on his right pinky.

When Agent Messner unloads his duty weapon in the hospital, he ejects a live round.

The sound of the round hitting the floor, though, is that of empty brass.

Darwin lifts his left hand to open Jack Dupree's eyes, in the next shot his right hand is holding the eyes open.

When the Tremor's roll down their windows to shoot the Bailbonds men, Darwin is seen with some sort of band on his left wrist.

When he gets out of the car both of his arms are bare.

FBI agents wouldn't randomly open fire in the general direction of the 50 caliber gunfire due to risk of public safety; There would be no telling where their bullets would hit.

Even if they knew where to shoot, which they didn't, at that range a Glock (or any handgun) is totally inaccurate, not to mention it probably wouldn't have enough stopping power left to do anything.

In various places throughout the movie it is indicated Heller was shot in 1952, but he is shot near a 1956 Ford.

The Tremor's shoot-up the Bailbonds men in the parking lot, bullets flying everywhere from automatic weapons.

Later we see that whilst the Bailbonds men's car has smashed windows, there are no signs of any bullet hits to the body of the car.

The fact that Sporazza and Buddy Israel are father and son would not necessarily make them a match for transplantation; there are numerous tests that would first have to be performed to make sure it would work.

Additionally, Buddy's years of drug abuse would have damaged his heart to the point that it is extremely unlikely it would survive the process.

And as if that weren't enough, it is briefly mentioned that by the time the doctor gets to him, he has just had some sort of cardiac event.

When Agent Messner unplugs the electrical cords connected to both Sporazza and Israel, they are both shown flatlining.

However, Israel was only on an oxygen mask, not a respirator, so his life would not be so immediately dependent on the power supply.

After Agent Messner closes the door to the hospital room, it is shown that the other FBI agents are unable to follow him, presumably because the door is locked.

However, hospital rooms do not lock.

When Soot (as Hugo) shoots Beanie, and Beanie turns around to confront him, as he turns you can see the plate on his back where the blank is supposed to go.

Empty Semi auto Glocks do not continue to make a clicking sound when you pull the trigger multiple times.

You would have to recycle the slide every time by hand to be able to dry fire it.

The hotel that doubles for the supposed "Nomad Hotel" in the film (Montbleu Resort) is located in Stateline, Nevada.

Contrary to what Loretta says, there is no city called 'Lake Tahoe' in Nevada.

When Agent Messner confronts Locke in the hospital, they are seen walking towards a set of double doors, without windows, marked with an EXIT sign.

As they pass through the door, the camera cuts and the pair are seen walking though a glass door into an intensive care unit.

I could sum this movie up in a few simple sentences. *SPOILER* A mob informant has a million dollar bounty placed on his head to keep him from testifying.

People giving this movie 1/10s need to lighten up. Not every gangster movie will be as great as the Goodfellas, Godfather, Casino or The Untouchables.

It's fun, the plot is generally working, the set piece fight scene is everything you'd expect but then they have no idea how to finish it. There's a big twist that's supposed to explain things but isn't convincing, there's buckets of loose ends that are just dropped and then the finale just makes no sense at all.

Buddy "Aces" Israel is a big-shot Las Vegas magician with mob connections. When the feds close in Buddy cuts a deal, agreeing to spill mob secrets.

OK,i rented out this movie hoping that it would be really stylistic and kewl. i was right...

Critics are terrible. So arrogant and stuck up with their opinions.

Smokin' Aces (2006): Dir: Joe Carnahan / Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Alicia Keys, Ray Liotta, Andy Garcia, Jeremy Piven: Fast moving action film about "Aces" Isreal whom everyone wants dead. The F.

This movie looks "cool" and "smokin'" as its title says, but the first hint that it's not so good is the fact that non-actress Alicia Keys is one of the main stars. And she simply can't act.

I honestly don't get why this movie gets so much hate. It's awesome.
