When Frank Stillwell first enters the bank to rob it, he is holding a small pistol (possibly a Derringer).

But once inside his gun changes to a full-size revolver.

Near the end, when Donovan and Dusty both land into the river embraced to each other, their hats topple off, and sail away downstream, where Donovan and Dusty would not be able to catch them in time.

In the next scene (where they are kissing while standing in the water), their hats are placed back on their heads again just the way they were, as if they had never fallen off.

On the DVD, when the kids set off the musical machine, the banjo has a REMO head on it.

REMO was not around in the 1800's.

When Amos and Theodore are handling the dynamite, they keep saying it will go off if it hits the floor.

This is a flawed way of thinking.

Dynamite requires a special chemical reaction to be set off, hitting the floor is not enough.

However in a previous scene, the bank owner proclaims that the dynamite is "sweating" meaning that a simple drop could set it off.

The suspenders that are worn by Amos and Theodore are not period for 1878.

Also the bandanas that are worn by the main cast members are also not period for 1878.

Early on, the Sheriff states that Quake City was built on a fault line.

Professor Lawson who first named the San Andreas Fault in 1895, did not identify it as running all the way through Southern California and for this to be the root cause of large-scale land movement causing quakes until 1906.

Likewise, it seems stunningly unlikely that a local sheriff would have had leading-edge, technical knowledge of geological plate tectonics that would have been worthy of a PhD in this era.

The mine suffers substantial damage as a result of a violent earthquake, yet the local town which consists almost entirely of rickety wood buildings, suffers no apparent damage whatsoever.

The movie felt average For sure. There was nothing special about it.

"The Apple Dumpling Gang" is quite agreeable, providing a generous amount of laughs and excitement as it delivers the Disney formula to a T. Adapted from a novel by Jack M.

For us late born boomers, Saturday matinees of Disney films was always a great way for our parents to find a cheap babysitter while they went shopping. This Disney film is one of my last memories upset circumstances, and numerous revisits to the film followed with Sunday's Disney night on TV.

Don Knotts and Tim Conway, two very big stars in their own right, teamed to do some very successful films mostly for the Disney Studio. Their comedy style was a lot like Laurel and Hardy, but in terms of individual stars teaming and being successful at both, the only comparison there is Crosby and Hope.

This film is absolutely fabulous and timeless. It is good old slapstick comedy and you do not need to worry about the content of this movie as this is old Disney.

Bill Bixby was the first Hulk I ever knew. I should say the first David Banner I ever knew, Lou Ferrigno was the first Hulk.

...from this film is: Hiring a team of comedy talents to write for this film would've been the definitive decision for it's ultimate success.

Could've/should've been funnier, but 'The Apple Dumpling Gang' is still an entertaining enough 100 minutes.I had a solidly good time with it, it never drags and has a few decent characters and a watchable plot to follow along.

For some reason I don't have a lot to say about this film other then the fact that I liked it. That is a very boring and uninteresting review.
