The film supposedly takes place in 1994, but in the supermarket, Michael displays an oatmeal and raisin flavored PowerBar.

Oatmeal and raisin was not available in 1994.

While Rustin Parr's house was said to be burned down (notably in _Curse of the Blair Witch (1999) (TV)_ (qv)), we see it and go inside.

But this is probably a supernatural phenomenon of some sort - possibly a time warp; it explains, in part, why the filmmakers were never found.

When Josh goes missing and the two others are calling his name, Mike is wearing a plaid shirt with a white t-shirt underneath.

When they change views his t-shirt is black.

When they cut back it's white again.

At the beginning of the movie, when Josh is getting out of the car, a 1997-2003 Ford F-Series pickup can be seen in the background.

About an hour in the movie when they lost Josh, Heather's hands and fingernails can be seen.

Even though the group has been in the woods for several days Heather's fingernails are perfectly clean.

In the house a red light flash (from a camera) can be seen though an open window.

After waking up to find three stone piles surrounding their tents, the group decides to walk South for the day.

However, they continue to walk toward the sunrise, which would be East.

When Heather is showing off the contents of her pack there is a survival book on how to stay alive in the woods.

It could have helped them, but they never used it.

The three are lost in the woods but in one scene, about 25 feet behind them, a field can be seen through a small gap in the trees.

The road is also visible as they try to find the trail.

After the map is lost, there is much talk of following a single direction in the hope of getting out of the woods ASAP.

The most obvious course of action (which occurs, apparently, to no-one) would be to follow the course of the river that they keep crossing then hiking away from.

In Mike's reference to "The Wizard of OZ" in which he asks "Wicked Witch of the West, Wicked Witch of the East, which one was bad?" And Heather answers "Wicked Witch of the West was the bad one" Actually both Witches were bad.

The Witch of the North was the good one.

When they first try to cross the log, with the camera, to the cemetery, we hear Heather talking as she crosses the log.

But her mouth never moves.

If you love the idea of a movie that shows you the ground for an hour and you're terrified by a rock and a stick, this movie is for you. If you want to be scared, stay away you won't find any here.

I was 16 when the Blair Witch Project came out on the big screen. At this time, it was the talk of the over-populated high school I attended.

This movie scared the heck out of me. What surprises me is that people I know who are scared watching any horror film thought this movie was boring.

Where do you begin. This is the worse movie i have viewed and on all levels.

Spoilers properly fitted some early drafts of this review due to politics. It is not so relevant now.

Love it or hate it you have to admit it changed the horror movie landscape and introduced a new sub genre and style of film making. Without the success of Blair Witch you wouldn't have series like Paranormal Activity and other found footage flicks.

OK, I have to be honest here, I saw this movie when I was 6 years old and later on watched it again to remember what was so bad about this movie... and now I remember why I hate this movie so much.

"The Blair Witch Project" feels authentic, even if it's not a documentary. Characters are realistic and well devoloped.

In the 1999 horror classic "The Blair Witch Project", we see three aspiring young filmmakers in 1994 set out on journey to do a documentary project based on a mysterious urban legend of the Blair Witch, who resides in a forest outside of a small town in Maryland. At first we're given the impression that this film was based off of their raw footage.
