The green screen used to create the mountains and deadly sunrise on Crematoria is reflected in Riddick's goggles.

When the merc ship is coming in to land on Crematoria, the pilot's goggles are on/off between shots.

While Running through the Canyons of Crematoria the second time Kyra yells, "Riddick," her lips don't move When the Holy Man is cornered by the necromonger before attacking each other, the reflection of the lights on the set can be seen in his glasses.

When Riddick climes the rope on Crematoria, Toombs is hanging on the same rope, but when Riddick reaches the top, it's obvious that there's no weight on the rope below Riddick.

When Kyra removes the cup that Riddick used to kill a guard on Crematoria, the cup has a badly broken and jagged rim and its handle is attached about an inch below the rim.

In the next shot where the cup is completely visible, the cup's rim is less broken and jagged and its handle is attached at least two inches below the rim.

The cup she places on the rock appears the same as it did when she first picked it up.

During the scene just before Riddick tames the Hellhound on Crematoria, he wakes suddenly on a narrow ledge.

Over his right shoulder you can see a safety wire.

When Imam is talking to Riddick about him leaving Jack, the reflection of the Camera lights is visible on his glasses.

When the criminals are running through the clouds of falling ash, they get it all over their clothes and their hair, then an instant later, all the ashes are gone.

When Riddick is crouched on a perch looking up at the Necromongers entering the atmosphere of Helion Prime, the digital addition of the 'shine' of his eyes doesn't match up with his eye and head movement.

When Imam is checking if the way is clear for his wife and daughter, directly after the initial Necromonger landing, the debris on the ground around him moves from one shot to the next.

After Riddick is left on Crematoria by the Necromongers he takes shelter in a garage.

Because the planet is quite obviously devoid of any humidity at all, the thin atmosphere does not transmit heat.

Therefore, all shade on the planet, including the "night side" (the half of the planet that is in its own shadow) is much cooler.

A similar effect can be seen in desert areas of Earth.

Ironically, the extremes mentioned mean that the garage actually would require heating of its own to keep the occupants alive.

After the Necromongers leave Riddick to, he talks to the purifier.

The purifier then walks out into the sunlight and his entire body bursts into fire and dissolves.

But if you look at the bottom right of the screen, you can clearly see a skull and some other bones of those who died in the fight.

In the scene on Crematoria where Riddick is going to kill the guy with his "Tea" cup, he is obviously drinking something out of the cup.

The final sip does not show him consuming the entire contents, but when he turns it upside down, not even a drop is left.

- PLOTWhen the ship carrying Riddick is on approach to Crematoria, they're all just fine with the sunlight entering the windows.

But once they reach the surface, suddenly the sunlight bothers them.

The sun would have felt much, much hotter before they entered the atmosphere, it wouldn't wait until they reached the ground to start burning them.

- PLOTUpon approaching Crematoria in the mercenary ship, the crew states that the temperature on the sun side of the planet reaches 700 degrees and on the shadow side, 300 degrees below, yet they have no trouble traversing the terrain on the dark side, the 300 below side, in their regular clothes.

When the guard hits the ground after Riddick kills him by stabbing him with a a tea cup, the cup can be seen to fly off the actor's shirt.

In the next shot, it's back stuffed into his chest.

At 41:35 when Dame Vaako is speaking to her husband and applying her eye "make-up" the close-up shot reveals that her cheeks are not moving at all while the dialogue is being spoken.

THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK is a far cry from the tight, original, exciting B-movie PITCH BLACK, and not necessarily in a good way. Substituting visuals for suspense, this is a wannabe-epic on the level of STAR WARS, complete with loads of alien planets, space travels and a far-reaching plot.

The Chronicles of Riddick fails to deliver on a lot of what made the first one so unique. The sci- fi mixed with horror element from the first one is largely lost as this sequel essentially feels like a darker version of a Star Wars movie and is void of horror vibe.

A few years after Richard B. Riddick was introduced in the sci-fi thriller Pitch Black, the titular killer returned in this bigger, more expensive, more action-packed follow-up.

So 'Pitch Black' was a sleeper hit which meant it was inevitable that a sequel would come along, unfortunately Hollywood never learns and they messed it up as per usual. The return of 'Riddick' is a strange convoluted mess that mixes various other film elements and completely loses what the franchise was originally.

I think people were expecting more of the same back in 2004 when this came as a successor to the popular "Pitch Black". Which also made more than decent money in the box office, which of course brought studios to the plan to make (and "help") with the sequel.

Pitch Black was a great B Sci-Fi's movie. But when I have seen in theater Chronicles it was just okay.

Overly bombastic and grandiose sequel to the much smaller scale Sci-Fi horror flick Pitch Black (2000), revealing director Twohy had near Star Warsian aspirations with the Riddick character, which despite the ambitious undertaking of this epic attempt never really materialized any further. Set some years after the events of Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick picks up with the continuing hunt for the dangerous anti-hero Riddick (Vin Diesel doing the only type of character he can pull off successfully: the grumpy, violent bullyboy with a heart of gold), though this time not so much for the bounty on his head, but more for the purpose of having him combat a new threat to the galaxy in the shape of the massive world-conquering army of Necromongers, who seek to convert all life to their semi-religious cause or kill it instead.

The reason why this movie has two narrators, Riddick (Vin Diesel) and Aereon (Dame Judi Dench), is because the story is being told from their points of view, and Aereon's narration at the beginning of the movie is to introduce the Necromongers into the story, and to explain who they are, and their backstory. Riddick, who is the main character of the movies, is the narrator of all of them.

I personally didn't find this movie to be engaging or as entertaining as "Pitch Black". Sure some people claim it's not fair to compare the two movies.
