At the party early in the movie, Rick and Lois are talking head-to-head on the sofa.

Mallory walks behind them and you can hear Lois talking, but we see their heads at opposite ends of the sofa and they aren't talking.

The camera immediately cuts back to them sitting close and talking like before.

In the beginning of the movie, as Rick returns to Savannah, Georgia from a trial in Jacksonville, Florida, he crosses the Talmadge Memorial Bridge.

The bridge spans the Savannah River and is located north of the city.

Jacksonville, of course, is located south of Savannah, and Rick would have to go way out of his way to cross the bridge as he enters Savannah.

A lawyer is drawn into a deadly game of cat and mouse when he becomes involved with a femme fatale in this adaptation of a Grisham novel. Altman creates a suspenseful, Gothic atmosphere but the script is weak.

Robert Altman's The Gingerbread Man isn't the director's best, but it's worth a looky-loo just to see this solid cast cavort around in a sweltering Georgia atmosphere and play out a narrative that's part sultry seduction thriller and part hard boiled whodunit. I remember watching it and going 'meh, I've seen this type of thing a thousand times and this one didn't raise the bar at all.

Weak...this movie is a disappointment.

This is a good example of a film that had potential...that went wrong.

This was the most pointless film i have ever seen as there was no plot and the actors did not seem to care. 90% of the film had absolutely no plot whatsoever, i laughed so much my ribs began to ache.

For starters, I cannot fathom why Downey accepted this role of Clyde Pell, a private detective. Granted, those were troubled times for him on a personal front but roles like this do no justice to his immense active gift.

The good: Robert Duvall. He brilliantly performs the role of a maniac, a mentally disturbed, yet highly intelligent, abusive father.

How bad can a movie directed by Robert Altman from a John Grisham story starring Kenneth Branagh, Robert Downey, Jr. and Robert Duvall be?

Being that this was an Altman and it was Grisham related, I thought, why not? Well, I'm glad I watched it because I finally got to see one of Altman's and Grisham's mulligans/duds.
