This continuation of the Millennium trilogy brings us back to very shortly after the first one finished. Mikael and his team are continuing to produce high-quality investigative and exposing journalism with a new investigation into trafficking and prostitution.

It was not as good as the original, and that is counting the great love scene in Lisbeth's (Noomi Rapace) apartment with her girlfriend. It picks up where we left off last time, with the same characters, but it just didn't seem to have the magic of the original.

I watched the Swedish-German original version. But I liked the first part The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo / Verblendung with Daniel Craig much more than this sequel.

I came to know this Swedish film trilogy through its famous American "twin brother", and I believe I was not the only one. Despite international credits, it is unusual for Swedish cinema to be widely publicized.

Weird changes abound in this adaptation. It feels a lot more made for tv than Dragon Tattoo and includes a bunch of changes, as mentioned, from the book that slow the pace and remove complexity.

The sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and second chapter in the Millennium Trilogy, The Girl Who Played with Fire does lack the brutal intensity, sinister ambiance & sustained thrills of the original and is a definite tumble down the road but thanks to another excellent input from Noomi Rapace, this sequel isn't a complete disaster.Based on Stieg Larsson's novel of the same name, The Girl Who Played with Fire continues the story of Lisbeth Salander as she finds herself accused of murdering three people & goes on the run to evade arrest.

This is a sequel to the girl with the dragon tattoo. It may be a sequel, but it doesn't clearly follow on.
