When Chunk is watching the police chase, he puts a slice of pizza in the window.

In the next shot, he turns it around.

In the last shot, it's back where it was in the first shot.

During the chase with the Fratellis, the police shoot three bullets into the back of the jeep.

When Chunk finds the jeep at the restaurant, the bullet holes are in completely different places.

The "smoke of success" emanates from the bone pipe organ slightly before Andy hits the final correct chord.

Mikey removes the broken glass twice from the map frame.

When they dump the jewels into Mikey's mother's hands, her fingernails alternate between painted and bare.

As One-Eyed Willy's ship leaves the cave, the rocks that fall into the water float.

When Brandon gets the paperwork from Troy's father, it's folded in thirds by the width.

When he walks back up the sidewalk to the porch, it's folded in half lengthwise.

When the kids come across the dead explorer, they pull a baseball card from his wallet.

The card is 'Lou Gehrig' (qv) from the 1973 Topps collection.

However, they mention that he has been down there dead since the 1930s.

While Mikey's Mom is showing Rosalita the house, she moves items around the room and gets a white paint-like substance on her right hand, which seems to come from one of the items.

In the next shot, when they come back down the stairs, her hand is clean.

When the pressure builds up and Troy is launched off the toilet by large amounts of water, you can easily see the platform he is sitting on and the pipe that pushes the platform up.

Also, he is wearing red underwear on the toilet.

Strings that hold the bats can be seen.

After the Fratellis pull the kids out on the deck of One-Eyed Willie's ship, Mouth has a mouth full of jewels.

When Data shoots the suction cup dart at Mama Fratelli's gun and it starts to pull him toward her, Mouth's mouth is open and no jewels are there; in the next shot they are back.

When Sloth swings down to rescue Stef and Mouth from the plank, you can clearly see that there is a mock-up of Stef and Mouth that Sloth is rescuing, not real people.

While the boys are going through the attic, one of them knocks over a picture frame.

The framed object is horizontal, but the hanging wire in the rear of the picture is for a picture that is framed vertically.

On the pirate ship, while Mouth is reading the map, Andy picks up the doll twice and sets off the booby trap twice.

When the kids are jumping off the pirate ship, Data jumps off twice.

The film takes place in Astoria, Oregon.

The last scene shows the pirate ship sailing off to the west, with the sun in the background.

However, the scene is supposed to take place in the morning, not late afternoon (as it would have to be with the sun in that spot over the Pacific Ocean on the West Coast).

Andy is made to walk the plank.

While she is on the plank her arms are tied together; while she is falling her arms are crossed.

Then back in the water they are tied again.

Chunk has a mole on his left upper lip.

It's particularly obvious when he is reading about Chester Copperpot in the attic.

But when he is thrown into the back of the black jeep, sees the dead body, and screams, the mole is on his right upper lip.

It's the actor's own mole, rather than a Hollywood mole, leading to the conclusion that the negative was flipped.

When the Fratellis are about to make everyone walk the plank aboard the Spanish ship, we see that Sloth is wearing boots.

When the Fratelli brothers try to distract him by making him jump rope, there is a close-up of his feet in which he is shown wearing sneakers.

They break the hole in the wood on the pirate ship, with jagged edges.

Later, when Mikey looks back down the hole to the others, the hole is perfectly square.

Brandon fixes the light up in the attic twice When Mikey asks Mouth to translate the map in the attic, Mouth is wearing a pirate hat.

In the next shot, the pirate hat is gone, with no time for Mouth to have taken it off.

Andy's foot repeatedly switches from on the bucket to off when they're in the well talking about Chester and that they got further than him.

Then we see her put her foot up ready to be pulled up.

The sink that Mouth is sitting in at the Walsh home is different in the close-up of Brandon turning the water on.

The dead guy in the freezer blinks twice.

When Andy makes the first mistake on the bone piano, a huge hole appears and Mouth almost falls in.

When she makes the second mistake, another hole appears and Brandon almost falls in, but the first hole has gone, and only reappears when the puzzle is solved.

In the Goonie house, when Mouth, Mike, and Brandon tell Chunk all his made up stories, Mouth tells him about when he said he ate his weight in pizza.

Mouth says "Godfather's Pizza," but mouths "Pizza Hut.

" Pizza Hut refused to be mentioned in the movie, so the shot was overdubbed.

When Mikey's dad tears up the contract and tosses the pieces into the air, you another extra bunch of pieces are thrown up in the same direction, a second after the initial throw.

When Chunk is drinking out of the cooler it is almost empty but when he hits it and grabs it to try to keep it from falling it is more than half full.

At the end of the movie, Data tells the news reporters that the "octopus was really scary".

This actually refers to a deleted scene, but there's nothing to indicate that he wouldn't just make stuff up and talk about something which (in the final version of the film) didn't happen.

The octopus scene is included in the TV version of the movie.

Jake Fratelli drops the cloth sack on the deck of the pirate ship twice.

When Chunk kicks over the framed article of Chester Copperpot in the attic, an adult's hand picks it up.

When the bats fly out of the fireplace, in the scene in which the Fratelli's are questining Chunk, it is obvious that some of the "bats" are bow ties.

When Data gets on the zip-line to Mikey's house, the back of his hands are facing the house.

When he starts to move down the line, his hands are the other way.

Brandon has his hand on top of the gas lantern, which should have burned the palm of his hand terribly.

Later, the lantern is used to light candles.

Troy reads "Guns & Ammo" on the toilet.

At first, the headline reads, "The 2nd Amendment Means What it Says.

" Seconds later, it reads "40 Years of Weatherby Rifles.

" While going down to enter the cave, Data's shoes are white with a black Nike sign.

In the next shot he is wearing black shoes and a white Nike sign.

When the Fratelli brothers pull over on the side of the road to grab Chunk, cables are coming out of the back of their vehicle, towards the forest on the side of the road.

At the bone organ, when the kids look at the scores, one can see something like a line of single notes (a melody) with a few chords, but quite a long line.

The girl just plays a few chords.

Furthermore, at one point she says 'a c-sharp d' and nothing even similar to that is played by her.

Right before they found Chester Copperpot's remains, both Brand and Mouth were carrying different lanterns.

In the next scene, Brand was carrying the lantern that Mouth had, with no time to switch lanterns.

At the beach, Francis Fratelli shifted the Jeep into 4LO (4x4 low range, very slow) The accelerating characteristics and highway speeds on the beach don't match a Jeep in 4LO.

Shifting at that rate would be very jerky, and the jeep would likely not reach top speeds.

In the underground tunnels, Mama Fratelli never appears wet, even though they would have chased the Goonies through the waterfall at the wishing well and down the water slide tunnels to arrive at the ship.

When the Goonies first walk into the tunnel, Andy says "We've been walking forever.

How far do we plan on going?" while mouthing something else.

When Mikey is reaching to put the copper stone on the three stones, he has it in his left hand.

But when he's putting it on the stones, it's in his right hand.

The red bandana headband on Josh's character keeps changing its design back and forth.

After crossing the log over the river, as Data turns to make a rude gesture at the Fratellis, he is shown turning over his right shoulder.

In the next shot, taken from the other direction, he turns over his left.

A camera is visible in the ORV's side view mirror when Mama Fratelli tells Francis to hurry up.

At one point, a newspaper headline that reads something like, "Fratelli's At It Again.

" This is grammatically incorrect.

Since it is plural, not possessive, there should be no apostrophe; it should read "Fratellis.

" When Mrs.

Walsh and Rosalita leave, the screen door doesn't close, and is left open when the Goonies go up to the attic.

When the door bell rings, and they all go outside, they have to open the screen door to get outside.

The shot showing Data shooting the suction cup at Mama Fratelli's gun was taken from where he shot it at the garbage can earlier in the movie.

When Chunk follows Sloth down the hole in the fireplace in the basement of the restaurant, he grabs a lantern.

He quickly touches it to turn it on, as if it had a switch.

When the people in the car reveal themselves to be the Fratellis, Jake Fratelli starts to sing a song in Italian.

When the camera turns to show Chunk screaming, you can still hear Jake Fratelli singing, yet you see him in the mirror and his mouth is closed.

When the kids are climbing the rope-ladder onto the ship, a crew-member's arm is cueing an event in middle-left of frame.

When Brand goes out to his bike, he claims that his tires have been punctured, when in fact they have just been deflated.

When the Fratellis get back to the summer restaurant with the pizza it shows one of the Fratellis with a piece of cheese pizza in his mouth, yet Chunk and one of the Fratelli brothers repeatedly say that it is pepperoni pizza.

The story takes place in Astoria, Oregon, but the beach scenes are clearly shot north of Cannon Beach, with Ecola Head in the near background and Haystack Rock farther back.

Cannon Beach is 30 miles from Astoria, too far for the kids to reach by bicycle to in the time given.

Aside from mountain logging roads, the only road connecting the two towns is Highway 101, which carries too much traffic for kids to ride on.

Astoria is also about 10 miles east of the coast.

The logs in in the fireplace at the Fratelli's basement have burning embers on them.

Then the embers are out when the Goonies enter through the secret hole.

Then the embers are burning again when the Goonies tell Chunk to go get help.

When Sloth is watching TV before he breaks free, there's a shot of the TV where Sloth's face is reflected on the screen.

His face is deformed, but the reflection of his face on the TV screen doesn't show his right eye deformed.

When the Goonies find the pirate ship with the waterfall, one Goonie splashes another.

That splash passes behind the waterfall in the distance, revealing that it is superimposed.

Mouth thanks Stef for offering to save his life; a reference to a cut scene.

When Troy's father and his associate drop off the foreclosure paperwork, you can hear rain, and they're both holding umbrellas.

When Brandon walks down the sidewalk to them to pick up the paperwork, their umbrellas aren't wet.

Neither is the car behind them, and neither Brandon or the paperwork gets wet.

When Mikey picks up the line of string for the first booby trap, an adult hand pulls at the string first.

When The Goonie Boys (minus Brand) ride their bikes to the shore, Mikey drops the map, jumps off his bike to go get it, and leaves his bike in the middle of the road.

When 'Sean Astin' (qv) and 'Josh Brolin' (qv) hug on the front porch, you can see director 'Richard Donner' (qv)'s trailer in the background.

Tires would not deflate by removing caps from them, only by twisting off vents.

When Chunk toppled statue Mickey ran to pick it up, but when he took it he had inhaler in his mouth.

When Mouth translates the map from Spanish, somehow the words in English still rhyme.

When Data starts the printing press, you can see the plates say the number "100" and the word "hundred".

But after the press feed the paper though, they come out as $50 dollar bills.

When Rosalita asks for Mrs.

Walsh's hands to pour the jewels from the marble bag into Mrs.

Walsh's hands, Mrs.

Walsh has very long, nicely painted, manicured fingernails.

With the closeup which follows, the hand has shorter non-painted fingernails.

When the Goonies find Willie's treasure, it is shiny and very clean.

If the treasure had been lying around untouched for centuries, it would have been covered in dust, dirt, and cobwebs.

The balloon used for the automatic gate changes color from red to pink.

The change was most likely a result of the red balloon stretching to its popping point and the stretching made it whiter, meaning it would be pink.

When the kids ride to the restaurant, Chunk begs everyone for a Baby Ruth that he supposedly doesn't have.

When he meets Sloth, he offers a Baby Ruth that he probably got from one of the others on their way over to the restaurant.

The incident with the plumbing makes the water dig a hole in the wall to reveal a secret entrance, however later in this new tunnel, the kids come across Chester Copperpot's skeleton.

Since Copperpot had come that far, the wall should have already had its secret entrance opened.

However, the basement with the (in-use) pipes was probably built after Copperpot went looking for the treasure.

When Chunk is on the phone with the sheriff and Sloth pulls out the cord that connects the receiver to the phone, a dial tone is heard on the sheriff's end.

Unplugging that cord wouldn't have disconnected the call.

When Troy grabs Brandon on his bike and sends him hurtling off the road, Brandon yells out but his mouth is closed.

When Sloth breaks his chains to release himself, he rips them out of the wall.

However, you can see from how he is chained that he is not only chained to the wall, but his hands are cuffed together.

He does nothing to break the cuffs on his wrists yet when he rips the chains from the wall, the cuffs disappear.

The plumbing for a relatively modern building found in the lost tunnel indicates that someone had to have been there since Chester Copperpot was lost, thus the tunnel would not be unknown in the local area.

The Goonies is a wonderful children's film featuring suicide, torture, a deformed man chained up in a confined room, deadly booby traps, a frozen dead body, kidnapping, gunshots, foreclosure, an old lady threatening to cut off children's tongues and skeletons. It's probably the best family horror movie of all time.

A group of young people of varying ages trying to save their home from being lost to re-development decide to use a treasure map they have found in order to locate a long-lost pirate ship, supposedly loaded with jewels. The kids then encounter a family of crooks who also want the treasure, and won't stop at kidnapping or worse to get it.

Brilliant for anyone. Even kids now will love it.

This film is suitable for children and their parents. Firstly, the plot is simple, it's something between "It" and "Home alone".

As a child to teenager growing up in the 80's this was a memorable one. I remember really enjoying it when I was 9 walking out of the theater.

I hated this movie because it's just screaming without a plot. The kids have no empathy with the audience.

Too much of a classic to be a bad movie. Even so many years later!

A group of kids in the attic discovers a treasure map from the seventeenth century and goes in search of the lost pirate ship. A children's adventure, typical of the '80s, reminiscent of movies about Indiana Jones or the "Pirates of the Caribbean".

This movie will remind many people of their childhood, happy, simple, beautiful. It is like a cave with a pirate ship, clear blue water, colorful treasures.
