A bus changes from a two rear axles to one.

The car that gets hit by the bus loses its bumper, but the bumper can be seen in a subsequent shot.

When the two police cars are trying to shoot out the tires in the pursuit, they both flip, and the devices under the cars making them flip are visible.

In the scene with the two police cars try to shoot out tires, not only can you see the ram holes in the bottom of the cars, just after that you can see a car battery and large air-tank fly out of a trunk.

The air-tank is the power for the ram that flips the car.

And that cars battery should have been in the front, not the trunk.

While being arrested outside the diner, C.

Thomas Howell accidentally kicks one of the deputies in the back of the head while being slammed on the hood of the police car.

After one of the deputies fires a warning shot at Jim Halsey just outside the diner, you can hear the shotgun pumping, but the deputy with the shotgun takes no such action.

When Jim enters the abandoned garage, birds fly in front of the camera for dramatic effect.

Though the hole in the floor seems to be intentional, the person visible pushing the birds out from said hole was probably not.

When Ryder escapes from the prisoner bus with a Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun, a total of 11 shots are fired.

A SPAS-12 can only hold a total of 8 rounds.

During the final scene when Rutger Hauer jumps out of the back of the bus and flies through the windshield of the Dodge Ramcharger, the windshield shatters like regular glass, not safety glass.

In the scene where the hitcher and Jim Halsey are sitting in the diner with the gun under the table, the plant in the right corner behind Jim's head is knocked over.

In the next scene it is sitting upright.

When the dog is licking the dead officer, his mouth is closed.

In the next shot, his mouth is open.

When Jim and Nash are in the police car with the chopper flying around them in several scenes they are driving 55 mph, but in one shot they are just crawling.

When Ryder is being transported in the bus the guards have guns and in one shot they start playing cards but in real life the guards cannot carry guns on them when transporting a prisoner and their attention would be on the prisoner and not playing cards.

At the final scene,Halsey brakes and Ryder is thrown out of the windshield.

We see that he lands a few meters away.

He gets up and goes for his shotgun which lies 3 or 4 meters away from him.

He then starts approaching the car while shooting(in fact he takes at least 8 steps towards it),but the distance between him and the car is about the same or even bigger, as the distance between the car and the spot where he picked up the shotgun.

This movie could have been a lot better if there weren't so many what in the hell moments. I understand that it's a movie and I need to suspend my disbelief but some of it was just to much.

I am a HUGE fan of the original Hitcher so I approached this with a lot of caution especially given how so many reviews were slamming it. But I think people are being overly harsh here.

The Woods Have Eyes. This is such trash I am mad at myself for not reviewing this ungodly DVD before I rented it.

Yup. I agree with most of the reviewers here, those that admire the original version of now definitive cult classic.

This movie starts out promising - I really dug the first 14 minutes It starts with C. Thomas Howell driving along a back road on a rainy night, a set-up I always enjoy - it's such a simple premise, yet it has so much potential.

The hitcher has one huge point in favor: a great villain. one of the best.

Stupid kid and a sociopath make a snuff film.Anyone who likes this movie secretly wants to murder women and children.

Now, I hadn't actually seen the original the first time I saw it as I didn't realize it was a remake. However, as I thoroughly enjoyed this version I went back to watch the original.

You would think that this being a remake might already spoil the plot for moviegoers but on the contrary this movie has some different twists that should keep you on the edge of your seat even if you saw the first movie with Rutger Hauer. Our evil villain does not as expected seem to make me skeptical that one could be in a major motion picture such as fantasy movie J R Tolkien's 2001 movie "Lord of the Ring's" as to an evil villain in this movie but I notice he does not miss a beat in being convincing in this new role.
