During the scene when Miriam offers the drink to Sarah, Sarah is standing in front of a bust depicting Miriam.

The camera pans between the two a total of three times.

The third time, when Sarah takes a sip of her drink, the bust is not there.

During the quick cuts when John attacks Alice, blood splashes on the sheet music.

A few cuts later, the music stand is kicked to the floor, and the open pages are now blood-free.

The unstained pages are seen again at the end of the sequence (in a fade effect that reinstates their blood stains).

In the climactic sequence, Miriam takes a swipe at one of the cadavers, knocking its jaw off.

The impact causes it to wobble, making it obvious that it is a rigid, lightweight prop.

2nd Season is offloaded to the Brits as a 2nd production. So , it's at best, a 30% hit rate for that season.

This is an era of production where some themes of sexual depravity can be put on film. (only some episodes explicitly explore this) .

No one can't be denied it is arty movie, too much stylized with a powerful trio as the Goddess Catherine Deneuve, the chameleon David Bowie and the skinny Susan Sarandon, with a workmanlike screenplay embedded with a fabulous make up applied on David Bowie character is priceless, however stays clear for me that Tony Scott drives it to an specific audience on those dared Lesbian scenes, for me didn't work, certainly will pleased those followers and relatives , made it on purpose to shock the viewers when this subject wasnot so easy to swallow, also when the aged John (David Bowie) killed that young Alice exposes to us a bit of free barbarism, seeing the untouchable angel Deneuve making those nasty scenes hurts me deeply, Sarandon I really don't mind as an average actress without sexy appeal that Deneuve built up along her long career, quite sure it wasn't for all tastes, also has an astonishing classic music score, having in mind that I'll be bombed here as negatives votes by those who don't agree with my conservative point of view!!Resume:First watch: 2020 / How many: 1 / Source: DVD / Rating: 7.

This film begins with a couple by the names of "John Blalock" (David Bowie) and "Miriam Blalock" (Catherine Deneuve) going to a nightclub and subsequently picking up another young couple and bringing them back to their spacious house. Once alone with them they both proceed to slice their new companion's throats and feed upon the blood that comes gushing out.

Let's see, the ubiquitous Bowie has appeared as a spaceman ("The Man Who Fell to Earth", a goblin king ("Labyrinth"), a famous teleporting scientist ("The Prestige") and Andy Worhol ("Basquiat"). But his vampire role in "The Hunger" goes down in my book as being Bowie to the max.

This movie is typical style over substance. This was Tony Scott's first movie and in that regard it is amazing.

I thought that it was a better movie. It doesn't has anything interesting.

I am not a fan of vampires in any shape or form. Except in the shape and form of David Bowie, who was the only reason I watched this piece of terminal preciosity in the first place and the only reason it gets four stars instead of zero.

The Hunger is the debut film for director Tony Scott. This film is nothing like the slick action movies the director is known for and is a unique entry to the vampire genre.
