Ryan Gosling is driving Evan Rachel Wood in a southern direction across the historic Roebling Bridge (who also built the Brooklyn Bridge) to Covington Kentucky and ends up at a Cincinnati Abortion clinic that would be on the northern side of the Ohio River.

George Clooney and his wife are having a conversation in the campaign bus, at night somewhere near Cincinnati.

But an exterior shot shows the bus pass a "Lansing" sign with the Michigan state route (diamond) symbol.

When they are watching a bank of TVs, the TV on the far left has a "Local 12" lower third, but the reporter doing the stand-up is holding a Channel 9 Microphone.

At the press conference for Molly's death, Morris says that Cincinnati police are investigating the incident.

However, her death occurred at a hotel in Kentucky, which would put her case outside of Cincinnati police jurisdiction.

At one point in the movie, two characters watch the political commentary show "Hardball" right after waking up in the morning.

"Hardball" actually airs twice in the evening, at 5:00PM ET live and 7:00PM ET in rebroadcast.

It never airs during the morning.

Ryan Gosling's character is shown shaving in the bathroom as he gets ready to go somewhere, in the next scene, supposedly right after he's shaved, he's back looking like he has at least 1-2 days of beard growth (which is the character's usual look).

At the church funeral for Molly Stearns, whose family is portrayed as being devout Catholics, her casket is parallel with the altar and it is not covered with a pall.

A funeral in a Catholic church for non-clergy would have the casket positioned so that the feet would enter first and the casket would remain feet end pointing towards the altar (i.

the deceased would be facing the altar), and the casket would be covered with a pall - a type of cloth that covers the casket.

Ohio is a two license plate state.

All the vehicles in Ohio are missing the front license plate.

Ryan Gosling's character mistakenly refers to the two lecterns on the stage as podiums when he asks"Are we going to put risers under these podiums?" A podium is a platform on which the speaker and lectern stand.

A lectern is not a podium.

The ambulance seen in the news report of Mollys death was a City of Cincinnati Fire Dept medic.

The hotel was in Newport Ky, across the river, out of Cincinnati's jurisdiction.

Great script, great cast. Well directed by Clooney.

This was a real surprise to me, because it turn out to be perhaps the best political drama (there are thriller elements, but isn't really a thriller) ever! The screenplay is exceptionally well balanced in all its elements, Clooney is a solid director and this is undoubtedly his best film.

Stephen Meyers (Ryan Gosling) is the assistant manager of Democratic Governor Mike Morris's (George Clooney) presidential campaign. Paul Zara (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is the campaign manager.

In The Ides of March, Stephen Myers (Ryan Gosling) is a young press secretary working on the campaign of promising presidential hopeful Mike Morris (George Clooney). Days before the Ohio Democratic primary the campaign begins to unravel from the inside when Stephen makes a poor decision.

Stephen (Ryan Gosling) is a razor-sharp, rising star political media consultant. Presently, he is working on Pennsylvania Governor Mike Morris' (George Clooney) campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The Ides of March is a slick piece of political movie-making, accomplished actors playing out parts we have seen for decades on the real political stage. About the story, John Edwards or Bill Clinton could have written it.

Physically compare experienced political operatives with their interns. More than wrinkled faces and less hair up top separates them.

George Clooney is running for President. Well, I mean, in "The Ides of March," as Governor Mike Morris, he's running for the Democratic Presidential nomination.

Greetings again from the darkness. Political thrillers can be so juicy and filled with "gotcha" moments and "oh how could he/she" scenes.
