Laser tells Paul that Joni got the National Merit Scholarship for science.

However, National Merit Scholarships are not awarded in any specific categories - candidates are chosen because of high scores on the PSAT, which does not include a science section.

In the scene where the central characters have dinner at Paul's house, Paul pours wine into his glass.

As the scene progresses Paul's glass changes from empty to full about 6 or 7 times.

When Laser and Joni hug at the University, Laser hugs with one arm up and one arm down, and so does Joni.

But in the next scene, Joni's arms are both up, and Laser's are down.

(at around 24 mins) While Mark Ruffalo's character is on the phone walking through his garden, a Star Waggon is very clearly seen centered in the frame behind the foliage.

In the backyard barbecue scene, Paul's hot dog shows just having ketchup on it, to having both ketchup and mustard, to just ketchup again.

During dinner in the beginning of the movie when Jules talks about the truck, she has a cucumber slice on her fork.

In the next shot, it is gone.

In the scene concerning Tanya and Paul, as he discusses the phone call from the sperm bank, the necklace Tanya is wearing disappears then reappears.

When the family is waving goodbye to Joni at the college, Laser is clearly shown sitting on the right side of the car.

In the next scene (the car trip home) he is sitting on the left side.

This review is more of an opinion ... and it really contains spoilers!

Don't waste your time. Don't.

Now, I would like to establish that I am no stickler for the happy ending, however the summary dismissal of Ruffalo's character was a disappointment that did detract from the quality of the film. The writing was impressive, magnificent performances from Ruffalo and Benning consolidated by strong performing cast, particularly Wasikowska, who maintained the conventional teenage attitude but refrained from melodrama.

OK, I had better make it clear from the start that this film does not feature the rock band 'The Who'… They did a film with a similar title back in 1979 so I didn't want there to be any confusion from the start. This, on the other hand is about a lesbian couple with two children… more or less the opposite of 'The Who' really.

"We're all suburbanites now. We're all neoliberals without knowing it.

Poor, undeveloped and absolutely awful. Turned it off after an hour due to the flat plot lines and oversexed characters with dull personalities that were not explored at all bearing no emotional connection for the viewer.

To me, The Kids Are All Right seemed like an interesting movie that I was all for seeing. I will not deny that the cast are great.

This movie sucked. There.

Pointless insulting movie. Two lesbians have kids, then the two kids want to know who their father is...
