Errores

Rahim looks at the picture of Soraya, Amir's wife, and puts it down on the table (at around 20 mins), but we don't actually see where he puts it.

In the next shot, the picture is not seen anymore.

The last scene shows the kites flying in a strong wind, but there is none at ground level (note her hair), nor matching chop on the water, and the glimpse of a sailboat suggests a breeze from the another direction.

In the scene at the stadium just before the Taliban official gives his speech there is a soccer game going on and most of the players are wearing shorts.

The Taliban did not allow shorts or revealing clothes of any kind to be worn, even at an athletic event.

They imprisoned and persecuted members of visiting Pakistani teams for wearing shorts.

When Hassan first points the slingshot at the three big guys to save Amir it is crossed but in the next shot it appears to be normal again.

In the film, when Amir's father is buried, a wood coffin is used.

Muslim burial rituals do not permit that.

Rather, cloth coffin is used to wrap the dead, then he/she is deposited in the grave on the body's right side with face revealed and directed to Makkah.

The stoning of adulterers in the stadium is incorrectly depicted.

The correct process involves digging two holes.

The woman is placed in the hole up to her shoulders with only her neck and head showing out, and the man is placed in his hole up to his knees with the rest of his body showing out.

During a 1988 scene in San Francisco, modern-day gas pumps are clearly visible.

The Kite Runner is a treasure of a film based faithfully on the book of Khaled Hosseini, an Afghani-American doctor, of the same name. In fact, the Kite Runner film does the book justice with an unknown cast.

My wife and I rented this to learn more about middle eastern culture, and thought it would be a cute movie about the friendship of 2 boys. Let this be a lesson to us not to judge a movie by it's cover.

I haven't read the book yet, so don't judge me. I know a book is always better then the movie.

I was very happy when I saw there is a movie depicting events in the book. I read the book and I knew I should not expect for a movie to be as good book is.

This probably reflects Afganistan and Taliban from an pan-American perspective.Even a diligent and committed attempt to infuse it into a touching story of heroism and redemption cannot hide the very possibly distorted and biased philosophy underlining the whole story.

For future use - has David Benioff been involved in the creation of a film, im not watching it..

Well dramatized and engrossing tale of life in a different culture with different values but sharing with all a common humanity.

I just can't express how this movie makes you feel. It is a life changing experience and a proof that good movies can reveal how real world works.

The Kite Runner is a film based on Khaled Hosseini's bestselling novel of the same name. It is directed by Marc Foster, and was adapted for the screen by David Benioff.
