The Last Unicorn

The bull chase was the only scene with half-decent animation. Really, the story was great, but the animation was really distracting.

"The Last Unicorn" is an animated film with great drawings, decent animation, a mediocre plot, and horrible pacing. The pacing is dictated by the music.

A lone unicorn learns from two huntsmen passing through her forest that she may be the last of her kind in existence. Unsure of what to think she asks a passing butterfly what he knows of the fate of her species.

We watched this in NYC the day we went to Princeton, but didn't pay much attention to it Seb got it for his 6th birthday and chose to watch it that night. It's unexpectedly high quality, and not just because of the interesting connection between Top Craft and Hayao Miyazaki (I don't actually see that many connections in terms of the animation aesthetics haven't yet seen the Hobbit animated films also made by Rankin and Bass, so can't comment there).

I remember my older sister used to watch this movie ALL the time! She absolutely loved it because it was a fantasy and she was seven.

This is an excellent animation that I have loved since childhood. The story, voices, and music are by far more beautiful and memorable than any other animated movie I have seen.

The first time I saw this movie was when I was very young. So young, in fact, that the only things I can remember about this movie are subtle images; I couldn't even remember if I liked it or not.

I remembered watching this movie when I was little. I remembered watching it more than ten times.
