When Zack and Bitsey are re-creating Constance's death, you can clearly see Zack bump the tripod-mounted camera as he moves.

But in the next shot, the view on the monitor is the same.

Such a jolt would have severely changed the composition of the shot.

Constance mentions Illinois' death penalty moratorium, which went into effect in 2000.

However, she died in 1994.

After Gale puts his son to bed he feeds his fish.

Before he feeds them you can see food floating down from a previous take.

When Bitsey found the tape in Dusty's house and put it on the VCR we see "Constance" hand-written on the sticker.

When she eject the tape from the VCR the sticker had changed it's then machine written or printed.

When David Gale is reading an email from his wife, the date readsTue.

8, 1994.

However, 8 October 1994 was a Saturday.

Near the end of the film, when the protesters are outside David Gale's execution, there is a clear shot of a large banner hung across a barricade which reads "Mark 6:10 Murder does not stop Murder.

" Mark 6:10 actually reads "And He said to them, Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave town.

" (NASB), so the bible quote actually has nothing to do with murder at all.

Huntsville Texas is about four hours away from Austin Texas, yet Bitsy drives back and forth between the two several times during the film and is able to make her 3:00pm meeting time with David in the prison.

When Constance is telling David he's on sabbatical, she says, "It was four to two," but her mouth is not moving at all.

Towards the end of the film, Sharon Gale, David's wife, receives the silver suitcase with the post card from Berlin in it.

The postcard was mailed from San Francisco to Texas but has no postmark on it in the upper right hand corner as it should.

At the beginning of the movie when the pickup truck swerves around the girl, the tire squealing sounds like the road surface is asphalt, when it clearly is dirt and gravel.

When Bitsey Bloom was watching the tape in the motel room before she asks Zack to go re-create the crime scene.

A quick short close up of Zack sleeping showed him wearing a watch.

Before and after this close up he was not wearing one.

University of Austin philosophy professor Kevin Spacey (as David Gale) is a well-known death penalty opponent ironically, he is about to be executed for the rape/murder of co-protester Laura Linney (as Constance Harraway). With four days to live, Mr.

It is strange how much this movie was ignored. It doesn't rank on many critics top 10 list and it wasn't a huge box office success anyway.

Great acting and direction in the most dishonest movie that I have ever seen. The setup is so overblown and overwrought that this could be a soap opera.

Really good suspense movie, ticking all the right boxes, but... the whole picture looses massively because of 3 scenes where we see the main character going through extremely juvenile (almost pathetic) emotional breakdowns/reactions which are so exaggerated and unnecessary that ruin the experience at its crucial moments.

The enduring theme of the film is capital punishment. But this is far from one-dimensional.

Have you ever wondered why some people are so much against capital punishment? Shouldn't the guilty be punished for their crimes?

The subject matter is interesting, the film was well written. Thoroughly well acted.

Reporter Bitsey Bloom (Kate Winslet) is asked by reclusive Texas death row prisoner David Gale (Kevin Spacey) to do interviews in his last four days. Gale was a sincere anti-death penalty organization Deathwatch member and college professor who raped and killed fellow member Constance Harraway (Laura Linney).

Great acting! Great film.
