The license plate on Mick Haller's car is NTGUILTY.

California plates only allow for seven letters/numbers.

NTGUILTY has eight.

(at around 53 mins) When Mick Haller has finished talking to the bikers and the car drives away, the car moves before the engine is even started.

Mick is injured by the gunshot in his left arm.

However when he comes out of the hospital his right arm is bandaged instead.

When Frank is murdered, the police identify the make and model of the gun simply by having a cartridge case, which is impossible most of the time.

One detective alludes to having historical evidence from the gun, but that supposes their ID of it is correct.

The answering machine message from Frank that Mick plays after his death is different the two different times he plays it back.

The first time, Frank doesn't mention the parking tickets, the second time, he does.

At one point in the court case, the bailiff is asked to remove the jury from the courtroom.

The door to the courtroom is heard closing off camera, just a split second after several jury members are shown to still be in the courtroom.

Not perfect but extremely well executed. It was pretty unpredictable and definitely did a good job of tying up loose ends.

This film gave the distinct feeling I was watching a pilot for a TV courtroom/action series about a troubled lawyer with a reputation for representing undesirables, but with a fundamentally good heart. A series I hope will never be made.

An exemplary law-related movie, which combines uniquely an incredible depth in plot, brilliant acting skills, portrayals of all kinds of personalities, (some of whom undergo touching changes) as well as moral, ethic and social issues. A cinematic masterpiece which manages to constantly beat and outdo itself by slowly unraveling the truth, which lies layers below the initially assumed one.

Lawyers are people who work their way around the law to prevent people from going to jail or get a sentence reduced as much as possible. In my opinion lawyers do their job for the greater good and as some of them may be greedy and corrupt, most of them do want what is best for their clients.

Sigh. Where's "My Cousin Vinny" when Marisa Tomei needs it?

'The Lincoln Lawyer' is a by-the-book legal thriller. The familiar ingredients are all there: a cocky defence lawyer who, in spite of representing the lowest of the low, still has his own concept of "justice" a conspiracy, a conflict of interest, an injured woman, an innocent man, the surprise late witness and the tough-but-fair judge.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. For a law drama/thriller, it hits all the right notes and keeps you engaged.

Mick (Matthew McConaghey) is a different kind of Los Angeles lawyer. His office is his Lincoln Continental and he has a chauffeur.

This one is well worth watching. A lot of court room scenes that leave you wondering what the heck is going to happen next.
