When Mia is eating ice cream she gets some on the side of her face but in the next shot it has disappeared.

When Nicholas kisses Mia his lips are above hers but in the next shot they are lip locked.

After Mia falls in the fountain with Nicholas her lipstick has rubbed off but in the next shot it has been reapplied.

When they are reviewing potential husbands for Mia, Mia and Lily are eating popcorn but in the next shot it has disappeared.

In the first movie we learn that Genovia Independence Day is before Mia's birthday, but in this movie it is after.

When Mia is holding her baby brother and talking to her mother, Helen, she is holding the baby with her left arm.

The next time we see her, the baby is switched to her right arm During the meeting with the Parliament members, Lilly is wearing a dark pantsuit.

After they leave the meeting area, her shirt changed a magenta t-shirt, with no evidence that she changed clothes.

In the scenes where Mia is reviewing the troops, there is a shot where Lily and Nicholas introduce themselves across Andrew ("Best friend of the queen-to-be.

I don't like you.

") In a later, related scene, Nicholas has followed Mia to the tack room.

His necktie changes between the two shots.

The director says (in the special features part of the DVD) that this was actually a shot taken from another scenethe pear tree scene (which is in the deleted scenes), and put into this scene instead.

At the wedding, when the security guard is carrying the ring bearer up the aisle you can see the camera and the above light (for the camera) in his shades When the Queen is teaching Mia the art of the fan her fan repeatedly flips from the wrong side facing the camera, to the right side of the camera.

When the Queen finishes sliding down during the mattress surfing, her mattress is crooked.

But when she steps off, it's straight and a little to the right.

When Mia is being crowned the archbishop places the crown on her head tilted to the right side of the screen.

In the next shot the crown is on straight.

Before Mia and Nicholas fall into the fountain, Mia is holding her fan.

When she comes out of the fountain, there is no fan in her hand nor in the fountain.

The fan would float if she had dropped it while falling.

When Mia sees her apartment inside the palace for the first time, the view out of the windows show they are on the ground floor.

Later in the movie when she climbs out of the window to meet Nicholas, she climbs down the trellis from the second floor.

When Joe and Clarisse begin to walk down the aisle together she places her arm on top of his.

But in the next shot their arms are linked.

At Mia's slumber party during the singing, Mia is sitting on a chair that is festooned with lace and other bridal type stuff in the front side shots.

In the behind shots the chair is plain.

It should be showing at the back because of the way the piece of lace especially is draped over the chair.

The Peace Corps is only available to US citizens, therefore, Europeans could never have been in the Peace Corps.

In the "Dancing footman" scene, it cuts back to the interior of the room the footman is dancing outside of.

The same footman is standing directly behind the Queen.

Then it cuts back to the dancing footman in the hallway.

After the Queen is done "flying", the long shot shows the snack table all nice and neat.

Even though previously all the slumber party guests had complete ravaged it.

In the scene where Paolo is arranging Princess Mia's hair for the wedding, he states that he is Italian, that "all Italian men love babies.

" In the same scene, just before revealing Mia's last hairstyle, he counts off, "Un, deux, trois.

" This is French, not Italian.

Mia is shown practicing archery.

In more distant shots, the string of the bow can be seen.

In close-ups, however, the bow has no string.

Toward the beginning of the film, Mia is standing in the throne room, surrounded by a gallery of portraits of rulers of Genovia.

At one point, toward the back of the hall, a famous state portrait of Martha Washington can be seen on the wall of Genovian royalty.

Andrew Jacoby is referred to as having a Ph.

from Oxford.

Oxford does not issue a Ph.

, rather it issues a D.

In _The Princess Diaries (2001)_ (qv), Mia's teacher is Patrick O'Connell.

In this sequel, his name is referred to as "Patrick O'Donnell.

" In the scene where Nicholas is helping Mia with her archery, right after he says the line "Can I see you one more time before I go?" His lips appear to still be moving though Mia's voice is heard answering his question.

There was most likely different dialog there.

Andrew Jacoby holds the (fictional) title Duke of Kenilworth.

Duke is the highest peerage in the UK so while his father lives (which he does), his father would hold (and use) the title of Duke and Andrew (assuming he is the heir apparent) would use one of his subsidiary titles as a courtesy title e.

Earl of x.

New dukedoms can be created but in since 1900 this has only been for members of the royal family (which Andrew cannot be as this is what makes Prince William an ineligible match).

Plot is thin but the acting is great. We even hear some singing from Julie Andrews, and who wouldn't like that?

Very cute, watching this I see that future films with the same theme are just blatant copies of this... Very cute...

The Princess Diaries 2 knocks Princess Diaries 1 out of the water. This one has more charm, romance, and laughs.

Good watch, could watch again, but can't recommend unless you just really liked the first one.Of all the boring premises, a legal requirement is a really boring choice.

Nobody mentioned the fact that they ignored that cute guy who loved her!!! she said now we are still friends and she married another guy !!

Just as slow as the original, but I'd argue it's a better film overall. There isn't much between the two films, I admit.

The following is the POSITIVE/NEGATIVE report for...PRINCESS DIARIES 2:ROYAL ENGAGEMENT...

What does it mean to be a princess? Besides wearing tiaras and twin sets, dancing at balls…attracting fame and fortune simply for being beautiful?

Princess Diaries...one of my favorite films of all time.
