When Sanderson and Kemp have their conversation in the car, you can see the camera in the reflection of Kemp's sunglasses.

A Jacuzzi was referred to just before Kemp signed the contract.

The movie took place in 1960 and the Jacuzzi wasn't invented until 1968.

When Kemp is interviewing the tourist couple at the bowling alley, space rock instrumental "Telstar" by The Tornadoes is playing in the background.

The film takes place in 1960, however the song in question was not released until 1962.

When Kemp and Sanderson are talking at the dock the morning after Sanderson's fiancée will not leave the nightclub, Kemp's hair is frizz, unkempt, and blowing in the breeze.

Sanderson says, "You blew it, Kemp.

" When the camera cuts back to Kemp, moments later, his hair is perfectly styled.

When Kemp Is getting ready to leave with Hal Sanderson from the airport to have breakfast, he puts on his glasses and in the next cut he's not wearing them and he stands up and picks up the glasses from the table.

When Kemp and Sala are experiencing the effects of the mysterious drug while walking outside by the docks, the lobster in the tank is clearly a Maine lobster (with large claws) and not a Caribbean Lobster (no claws).

When Kemp is driving the Corvette along the coast line, as the camera pans the car and roadway from above, a cellular telephone tower appears in the camera shot.

If this time frame of this movie is the 1960's, a cellular tower would not have existed.

Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp) is a drunkard American freelance journalist in 1960's Puerto Rico. He is desperate for work, and takes a job at a local paper.

Tragicomedy. A screen adaptation of the novel of the same name by the famous American writer and journalist Hunter S.

Starts well, ends badly. The setup was intriguing and quite funny.

First of all I must say The Rum diary is one of my favorite movies of all time. But in order to really understand it, you need to know some background on HST 's life and work.

'The rum diary' is a film adaptation of Hunter S Thompson's popular novel of the same name. Having never read the novel, my opinion of the film tuned out to be pretty shallow.

I loved the book, but this movie sort of let me down it was more of a tribute to the man Hunter S. Thompson rather than his talent as a writer.

The common theme in conspiracy theories about a New World Order is that a secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government-which will replace sovereign nation-states-and an all-encompassing propaganda whose ideology hails the establishment of the New World Order as the culmination of history's progress.

I'm one of the uncultured folks who never read a word of Hunter S. Thompson in my life.
