The Skeleton Key

When Caroline is reporting for her interview, she steps out of her car and walks up to the house for the first time.

We see her back from the car's side mirror.

In reality, the car is parked (and she walked) in a direction that would not allow her to be visible in the car's side mirror.

When Caroline is giving Ben his second bath she soaks the sponge with soap and water.

A second later when she goes to get the mirror her hand is completely dry.

When Caroline is giving Ben his bath, she drops both the soap and sponge into the bathtub water.

When she comes back to the bathtub, the soap is still floating in the water, but the sponge has appeared on the rack over the tub.

In the beginning of the movie Caroline is reading a story to a patient who dies.

She tells a nurse that he just died but you still can see his chest breathing.

At the end of the movie Caroline is brought into the house by Luke.

She has her hands tied behind her back and has mascara streaking down her face.

When we see her again, the streaks are not running down her face but just around her eyes, yet she has no hands free to wipe them off.

As Caroline throws Violet over the stairwell, the back of her shirt flies up, revealing a protection pad across her lower back.

When Caroline is getting everything ready for the conjure of protection, she slices her hand and puts the blood on the sulfur.

The blood then disappears and reappears between shots.

At the end of the movie when Caroline is smoking, her hand is completely bloody.

When Caroline grabs the Remedy from Luke, her hand isn't as bloody, but the blood reappears in subsequent shots.

When Caroline first finds the door in the attic, there's a flowery pattern on it.

When she goes back to unlock it later, it's not the same doorknob.

The gag in Caroline's mouth changes position as she pulls up to the house.

It goes from a twisted to a flapping gag, then back to a wrapped gag.

When Ben is trying to kill himself, Caroline isn't as wet when she goes to wake up Violet, but is completely wet when she first goes outside to help Ben.

When Caroline is showing Jill the newspaper ad for the hospice job, she has circled it numerous times with wide pen strokes.

When Jill looks at it again, the pen strokes have obviously changed positions, more an oval shape.

When Caroline is trying to escape with Ben, the first time she tries to bang into the gate and break the lock, she looks back and in the window of the house you can see the camera flashing.

When Caroline is escaping from Violet for the first time, she spots the boat and you can see some of hair in front of her face, in the next shot her hair in front of her face switches sides.

When Caroline crashes into the gate with the Volkswagen, the front bumper falls off.

It disappears and reappears between shots.

Toward the beginning of the movie, Carolyn takes a shower and goes to sleep.

She is awoken by a noise, Ben on the roof of the house.

When she goes outside to save him in the rain, her mascara is dripping down her face, yet how can this be after she just awoke clean from the shower.

After Violet comes around, she uses the elevator to get up the stairs with the power still out in the house.

The elevator would not be working.

Caroline needs chalk to make a protective hoodoo symbol.

She uses blackboard chalk, but that is made of gypsum, not of calcite.

After Caroline decides not to throw her patient's belongings in the trash container, the lid is lifted up (by an off screen crew member) before she grabs it in order to close it.

Near the end of the movie when Caroline is calling 911 for help, she gives the street address of the house and says it's "in Terrebone Parish.

" Parish's are like counties in that they are composed of many, many different small towns and cities.

She would have to give a specific city/town name in order for emergency vehicles to get there.

When Caroline finds the mirrors in the attic after hiding from Violet, you can see a crew members reflection in one of the mirrors behind her.

When Caroline and the lawyer go to the blind woman's house he is able to enter over the red dust, but she uses it to keep him out later when she's trying to escape from him.

Okay, just so you know...the scariest thing about SKELETON KEY is that in the opening narration, if you close your eyes for just a moment, then open them real quick, you could swear that was Goldie Hawn on the screen, years ago in a movie that was never before released until now.

Reading the reviews for this baffles me. I think if this film came out today there would be much more praise.

I remember how I wanted to see it because of Kate Hudson and it did not expect it to be soooooo good. Excellent storyline, it is so rare to see such good scary movie.

The best part of the film is, its end. It left me scratching my head, for even a while after the film was over.

I like Kate Hudson and usually see her in the rom-com films just like her mother excelled at. However, this one is very entertaining while following a dark and scary storyline.

This is a highly enjoyable film. Kate Hudson is very effective .

Minor spoiler people so don't get your knickers in a knot. Okay.

The Skeleton Key is directed by Iain Softley and written by Ehren Kruger. It stars Kate Hudson, Gena Rowlands, Peter Sarsgard, John Hurt and Joy Bryant.

When holywood was churning out soft horrors with top actresses, The Skeleton Key was one of the few that stood the test of time. It has a very famous lead actress but doesn"t get stuck on traditional girly horror stereotypes.
