Who is the watcher the woods? That's the question put forth by the intriguing and often overlooked film "The Watcher in the Woods".

"The Watcher In The Woods" is about a family who moves into an English manor located deep in the woods. The two sisters, Jan (Lynn-Holly Johnson) and Ellie (Kyle Richards), begin to experience strange phenomenon and sense a dark presence in the woods surrounding the house and they believe that the strange caretaker of the house, Mrs.

When a normal American family move into a beautiful old English house in a wooded area, strange, paranormal appearances befall them. Their daughter Jan sees, and daughter Ellie hears, the voice of a young teenage girl who mysteriously disappeared during a total solar eclipse decades before.....

An American family move into an English country mansion where the eldest daughter (Lynne-Holly Johnson) experiences hauntings and supernatural experiences that she eventually learns is probably related to the unsolved disappearance of a young girl almost 40 years previously. This Disney live action film sees the studio having a go at horror and by shooting it in Britain with a British horror film director it works fairly well, but is let down by not so great spfx, though it is nicely shot by Alan Hume, was re-edited with some versions running at 100 minutes and others at 84 minutes.

Mediocre scare flick, rather dark for a Disney film but not really very frightening. Lynn-Holly Johnson is an appallingly bad actress ruining every scene she's in.

Oh so very boring.'The Watcher in the Woods' isn't necessarily a terrible film, but wow did I feel completely uninterested from (almost) start-to-finish.

I was a little too young for this one, so I had not seen it until today. If I had seen it as a child, I would have doubtlessly been scared, and I would appreciate it more today as a result.

I've watched this movie a hundred times throughout the years. When I was a child this movie was so scary it had me hanging onto my pillow and my blanket watching it.

Good movie. I like Angelica Huston.
