When David enters the bathroom and rinses his face we see in the mirror that his watch is undone and hanging around his wrist.

In the next shot, from a different angle, his watch is done up.

When David is talking to his father, after being hit by a Wendy's Frosty, the stain on his collar changes throughout their conversation.

At 19:57 in the movie on the wind chill map, Sioux City should be Sioux Falls.

The right rear-view mirror of Robert's Jaguar is missing in one shot When Dave puts the new tag on his license plate, the first set of three numbers is separated from the second set of three numbers.

But a moment later, a front shot of his car shows all six numbers in a row with no separation.

When David is at Robert's house, we see Robert's Pulitzer Prize, a piece of carved engraved glass.

Individual Prize winners actually receive a certificate.

If you freeze the scene immediately after Spritz deletes his book Breaking Point, you can see there is still a Word file on his desktop labeled Breaking Point, so he didn't actually completely delete it.

However, when a file is deleted by one application, such as Word, other applications, such as Windows Explorer (what displays the desktop icons,) don't update instantly.

Sometime it can take several seconds for the changes to be reflected in other programs.

Also, the icon on the desktop could be a shortcut to the actual file in My Documents, in which case the icon will not disappear automatically.

It would have to be deleted separately.

When Dave buys the coffee in the Arby's, the total goes from $.

72 to $.

That would place the sales tax somewhere between 10.

4% & 11.

No state, including Illinois where this movie takes place, has a sales tax that high on food.

When David pays one dollar for the coffee at Arby's, the charge is 80 cents, yet the cashier only gives him a dime back in change.

The parade scene at the very end is supposed to be taking place in New York, but if you look at the firefighters' uniforms and the emblem on the firetruck, they are clearly from the Chicago Fire Department.

In the final archery scene, David removes all but one of his arrows from the target, then is distracted by someone asking for an autograph.

In the following long shot, the final arrow has disappeared without David ever having removed it.

This is an old school dramedy with lots of family references (separation, teenage kids, dying father etc.).

Saw this movie as a kid and again as an adult its not as i remembered it the brain kind of combines various memories into one an amalgam you think something is one way but when you go back and look at it it's another. Its just how the human brain processes long term memory there's no bs effect or anything you brain just compresses information like a computer and that information bleeds together until you release it by reopening the memory usually by rewatching or rereading whatever it is.

I don't do reviews very often but I felt compelled to comment on this one. This is by far one of Nic Cage's best pieces of work and I've seen them all.

An invaluable movie. Those who expect action like Gore Vebrinski's other films are disappointed.

It's extremely pessimistic look at family. The protagonist tries his hardest to make his family happy, but fails.

19JUL2020 {1/10 stars F} Recommend? No This would have been an ok movie if it weren't saturated with obscene content that distracts from the overall story.

Gore Verbinski's 'The Weather Man' is a moody, but consistently watchable comedy-drama, that benefits mostly due to its leading-man, Nicolas Cage, who pitches in a superb performance!'The Weather Man' Synopsis: A Chicago weather man, separated from his wife and children, debates whether professional and personal success are mutually exclusive.

I love this kind of movie and wish more could be like it. A good story and writing with a flawed main character who makes mistakes.

People can easily underestimate movies, including this , including me who i gave it only 6 but because i lack to get all the references the movie was trying to make, not because it's pretty hard reference to understand but because i believe it's related to American lifestyle , he mention two names who are famous but i really don't know them , however it helps me understand more about American culture and how awful using the F word is ,pretty much i am going to see it again couple of years later, if i stayed alive :P .
